So I feel I'm ready to get into a vv/vw mod. But what? Love price of the vamo.. But they seem to be classic "get what you pay for" scenario reading some threads. I'd like a good quality tube mode. 18650 size. Looking at tesla, vamo and e vic. What else good quality is out there for less than $100? I'm more interested in vv than vw.. But if I can get both why not right?

I bought an Innokin SVD when it came out, and have not been the least bit disappointed. You might try it. It came with two different sized tubes, and two iClear 30's. The thing works great for me. As a plus, if you decided further down the road to get different sized batteries you could. I usually use it in 18650 mode @ home, and stealth it down to 18350 when @ work or on the go:)

Hope this helps! Oh yeah it was $99

Thanks for the info! Where'd you pick it up from?

I've heard there are two manufacturers for the Vamo. One is Vision and they offer the Black and Chrome - no SS.
The other version offers all 3 finishes; black, chrome and SS, and those are those have more problems. I don't know how true that is. I've seen it mentioned on Mad Vapes and a couple of other sites and I've wondered if that's why it's so hit or miss with the Vamo's build quality (I'm still on the fence too).

It'd be nice if this could be proven. And if so, what vendors carry the better quality vision..

Ok..Pulled the trigger on a vamo from VaporBreak. Didn't really want to order from China, but the price was $26.99 plus shipping less than $5.00. If I get 6 months out of it, i'll be happy. So now i'll sit and wait a while for it to be delivered. Will give me some time to get some batteries for it.

I'm sure by now you've bought your batteries, but if not I got mine from Avid Vaper ;)

I really want an Ihybrid or a Zen, but how the hell do you really get one? They seem very hard to acquire yet a lot of people have several.
What gives?

I got really lucky and happened to get on electronicstix site when the Zen was in stock lately.

I gave up on trying to buy an iHybrid ... it's MUCH harder to obtain do to the current amount of people who plan to buy them for profit.

Best advice I can give is keep updated on their twitter/facebook/mailing list. Right now though ... just about every high end device is hard to get.

Got my VAMO from VaporAlley back in December, $49.99 for the unit and it came with one 18650 and little cloth sleeve. It has been running fine and it still going. Not sure where they get there VAMO's from, but I have read that up to five different place in China make them. However that is hearsay or in this case maybe readsay.

I have also heard a lot about the 510 threads and the advise to use an adapter, my cat knocked my VAMO off my desk shortly after I got it. It hit the floor and broke the carto off right at the threads, had to use a flat scewdriver to the get the remains of the carto out, the threads seemed to suffer no damage, but I have been using the adaper ever since, lol.

The Mad Vapes website mentions theirs comes from the Vision factory (better quality). I've also seen a number of other vendors mention that there is more than one factory / quality. But who knows what that means in China or what VB is carrying. I know there's been lots of success but it's a gamble.

I got my black chrome vamo today from vaporbreak! I went to P.O. and picked it up. I was worried about it's condition after reading some horror stories. But I may have gotten lucky. No physical flaws except for a little white spot on the bottom of the screen. Connection looks straight and it has the new gold spring. No rattle whatsoever, not even the buttons (may change if they loosen up a bit). But for $31.00 shipped and just a 10 day wait, i'll take it. I loaded one of my new fully charged panasonic 18650, put on a nova tank (1.8 ohm), made sure I was in NO2 mode, clicked to 9 watts, fired her up and vaped away. I have to say, I am loving it!!! Only wish I'd have ordered it sooner!!!

The Vamo looks pretty good for the price. But I saved up and got a ProVari about 6 months ago and it is toally worth it. I have dropped it so many times and it still works fine, no dents just scratches. I don't use dual coils so I don't care if it doesn't work with those. I don't want to sound like a ProVari fan boy but I love mine and I haven't had any complaints about it. Plus, it's made in the USA. The Kanger VV's are also pretty good, my brother has one and likes it a lot. The vision spinners, ego twists are all good VV mods but they break quite easily and I am hard on my stuff. Good luck. The eVic's also look kinda cool but it seems they have a bunch of useless stuff built into them like a clock, puff counter, calendar (I think?), your name across the top, clock... Idk, bunch of useless stuff. The software on them is a cool feature seeing as how you can update it and stuff.

Yeah. Weighed the options and went with the vamo. Best bang for the buck IMO. I agree the evic has a lot of features I don't really care about. Puff count? Well I'd see that as a challenge and everyday I'd keep trying to break my high score...lol
