Not enough info.

Your liquid's nicotine level may be too high.

Your liquid may have too much PG. VG provides a smoother vapor.

Your vaping style may not agree with your throat.

What kind of device do you have? Variable wattage?

You could be coming down with a cold or something. Strep throat is raging here, for example.

We need more data!

Welcome to ECF, BTW!

A certain amount of am coughing for some folks is normal. You may just be coughing up gunk from smoking. With that said, Coastal Cowboy has raised several valid issues for why you may be coughing with your vape, so if you do post what setup and e-juice you are using, that may help isolate the problem. Is it a different vape than what you started with the first time you switched? You may find that changing one tiny variable may be the reason for coughing more...

Good luck!

When I first started vaping and haven't yet quit smoking I would cough every time I vaped also. Once I decided to quit smoking and just vape the coughing went away within a day or two, just needed to climatize myself to the change from smoke to vapor.
Another thing that causes me to cough is high% VG liquid, it inhales very smooth, but for some reason just tickles my lungs and makes me cough.
