Hey guys,

I have an order coming by next day before 1 royal mail post. It's going to be posted tuesday and will land on wednesday morning. I wanted to get the day off work as i wanted to play with the SD when it lands

Unfortunately i can't get the day off work so im not going to be here and nobody else will be at home either.

What i want to know is do they take it back to the local sorting office that day and i should be able to pick it up the same day but later on when i get home from work? Or does it take another day before i can collect it?

Have any of you guys missed a recorded post here in the Uk?

It's at least 24 hours sometimes 48 hours depending on your sorting office. It will say on the card how long to leave it. It's unlikely to be ready the same day and from my experience the collections offices normally shut around noon anyway.

My sorting office says 24 hours on the cards but the parcel has always been there for me at eight the next morning.

At least on mine the sorting office is open until 4 or something, when I missed the postman I managed to get my parcel around 1, it will say on the slip when you should be able to collect it

Sounds like I've drawn the short straw with my sorting office

I'm lucky if they even attempt to deliver my parcels, recently they have just been leaving them at the sorting office, pretending they've left a card and then returning to sender.

Yeah it sounds like you have mate Im not sure what mine will be like yet but if i was in your shoes i would at least put a complaint in!

Thats just not acceptable.

Good idea to pre-empt any depersonalisation - ring 'em up, ask their opening times and collection points, get one or two of _their_ names to juggle with - they treat "real" people better!!!

After all - it may not be the only parcel ya get!

I'm on my fourth complaint now. All that happens is you wait a few weeks and they send a letter saying the person responsible was told off. It gets better for a couple of weeks and then it all starts again. There goes my blood pressure again

3 hours before it can be collected from the sorting office is usual for me. Why not get a neighbour to sign?

Thats a good idea, i know the people on the other side of the road quite well. Ill ask them if they will be at home although they do both work im sure one does shifts so i have a chance Im expecting about 3 things to land on wed but the main one is my SD
