Aww crap, I already missed an order? Damn. Wish pailpoe posted about it here too. I've been hoping to get one. I could use translate but I thought he'd be double posting.

Yes, doing the orders there but I think he said after the European co-cop there would be the US co-op. On Google chrome the translation is so/so but enough to follow some...

this forum has some serious lag time, if you are trully interested you need to join the french forum. they have already completed 1 preorder of 50 and are now compiling 2nd preorder of 50. would like to say hello to (the ECB) as i live just south of seattle.

Sachavaca, Hello to you as well! Do you happen to have a link to the French forum handy??

So far it's a french-speaking co-op. I presume the following co-op will be for the rest of the world (you know, the part that doesn't speak french!).

Gents- short summary- the gist is they are doing an initial order of 50 diy sets through the French forum. The first 50 slots are gone and there's a list for the next 50 that Kalypso is putting together. The second list is to back fill the first in case someone drops out and maybe if there are enough on there, they'll look at an initial order of more than 50. Kalypso is asking info on your ability/experience to solder and program via PIC - the raw kit requires both, however some folks are volunteering to do one or the other for those who can't. Also, there will be a tutorial of sorts that they are doing for soldering the PCB. They did say at one point that they would look at doing another run for us, but details were sketchy. As per previous posts, they are not planning on commercializing this so there won't be a production version at least from Pailpoe. Probably won't see anything final till end of month at the earliest.....

The thread is here: Cigarette Electronique • Pré CG ModULRA by Pailpoe : E-Bricolage et Prototypes • FORUM-ECIGARETTE

If you want to get involved on the French forum, you will need to register and post some brief info in the welcome area before you post elsewhere. Google, Bing and Babelfish (yahoo) all have translators that make it fairly easy.... I translate to French and back to english to make sure it's close to what I meant before saving a post.

Not even sure exactly where I am on the list, but I'm pretty sure it's on the 2nd list. From what I gather, they aren't quite sure on the exact price yet but it was around 80 Euro each.... figure shipping and we're in the neigborhood of $135-150$ depending on exchange rates..... if they do a second run.

I see Pailpoe put up a post that he'll program the chips so, we won't need to all run out and buy PIC programmers.....also he clearly stated that they don't know what they are going to do with the 2nd list- so it may all be for naught- maybe if we show enough interest to lock in another 50, they'll go forward with that list.

Ok, thanks for the update. I did register but when I log in I loose my translation on Chrome. I'll try another one of the sites you recommended.

I'm using IE9 & Bing page translation to read but I think it's the same- you need to post on the page when it's native (without the translation) or you're not logged in. To translate, I type the text in Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation and cut/paste the translated text back to the original page - seems to work best but you have to keep your head on straight...

last posting of list that i have seen was feb 21. had 11 persons on 2nd list. did not see your name at that time jimho. I was the only person from usa at that time. feeling lonely, could have a little more involvement from this side of the world. the second list has some requesting assitance in programming and soldering. good luck to all
