I do not have much time to release a 3D model but the battery goes from 1.6 mm in the board. therefore it exceeds 16-17mm above the board (components side). on the other side, the screen is 3mm thick.
The components are maximum 4 mm thick.
We must greatly thinned areas.

Ok no problem, so screen goes on the bottom of the board, so opening or top now becomes bottom. And LCD screen hole is moved to the bottom which is now the top. Everyone clear here! hehehehe

Naw, I will throw 1/8" magnets under the lid in resessed holes so it snaps together. No alignment pins needed since there is a resessed lip with a .25mm side gap. No screws needed, might do a contour design, hmmm this will be interesting

The cap would have the holes for the screen and buttons in it, so this would contour to your hand.

looks good. i would even opt for a slightly larger box as long as the edges were rounded for a good feel. How about the shape of a fistpack on one side at least or would that be awkward?
Magnets are good. Also I think the usb charge port will be on the side.

The Fistpack/VaporLuxe design (pictured in post #70) is very comfortable in the hand, but perhaps would need quite a bit of revamping of the concept for the display.

The darwin is encased in aluminum, and it's not way too heavy. Images of its internals shows that it's pretty thick in spots.



One thing I really like about the design of the darwin is the bevels, adds a good grip to it - doesn't slip out of your hands as easy if it was all smooth.
