LOL Great minds must think alike, same concept:

Only problem I can see is that the battery is literally sitting on the board, so in this case the USB port would be at an angle. Current design:

I do like the design, but the PCB would have to be setup so the battery is in the center of the board to line up the USB port. Like so:

The LCD would also need to be angled to match the angle of the housing. This way the USB port is straight as is the LCD panel to the housing.

Why not run the PWM at say 20Hz rather than 100s KHz and not bother with capacitive smoothing; more efficient and less noise. The DC equivalent can be calculated. Am I missing something ?
I use a boost to step up the voltage (power). At low frequency, the size of the components increase but switing losses decrease.
I agree with you, for a simple pwm (no inductor, step down), no need capacitor but i prefer to use 20-30Khz frequency .

I'll be yet another to welcome you back 'pailpoe'. It's been a while since I've been on the French forum.

I take it from the earlier posts there was not another run of the Modulra? I was on the second list of 50. Money is tight for me so maybe it's for the best ;)

Either way, good luck on this one. I anxiously await the videos.
