I talked to my wife about getting a vape system after going to a party and chewing through two packs of smokes one night and feeling HORRIBLE the next day.

About a week went by and I honestly didn't do any research or homework and found myself wandering into a local store after having dinner and seeing the sign "Vapor Craze". I met one of the owners, Romeo. Dude is legit! Very nice guy, nice clean shop, and we felt like he truly wanted to help us.

We purchased two full setups from him. The Ego-v V2 batteries and a basic cartomizer tank system. Also picked up some "Spank The Monkey" in 12mg for me and my wife got some kind of fruity watermelon flavor (can't remember exact name).

The good: I LOVE IT!!! My first day with it I had 4 cigs - down from about 15 on average. Second day, a Sunday BBQ at a friends pad, where I would usually go through at least a pack - I ONLY HAD ONE CIG!!! If you're new, the VAPE thing actually works!!!

So, while I was pleased with the setup for the most part (more on that later). I did a bit of homework and already knew I wasn't a fan of the traditional cart / tank setup after spilling juice everywhere and flooding it more than once; this was too much work I kept thinking. But, I found a solution!

Just last night I walked into another store in Costa Mesa "Coastal Vape" where I met Anthony. This guy, IS RAD! Just a character that showed me some of the high end MOD drip system type stuff and let us try about 20 different flavors. Just patient, and cool dude. Coastal had way more choices and different stuff than Vapor Craze, and I was comfortable. I grew up in Costa Mesa so I don't sketch out but it is in kind of a hidden "seemingly sketchy" location off Newport Blvd. Potentially a PITA to get to during weekend days in summer! Anyhow, still a rad shop and I will definitely be going back.

Based on my reading, and how lazy I am I knew what I wanted. I was there to pick up a Kanger ProTank. I was hoping for the PT2, but they only had the 1 and the mini. I went with the 1 for now. Also picked up some new juice "Queen Of Hearts" MMMMMM MMMMM GOOD!!!!!

AND

I LOVE THE PROTANK!!! Major improvement over the stock cart / tank setup in my opinion.

The Not So Good: My EgoV V2 had issues right off the bat. This "issue" actually happened in the store the day I bought it, but figured it just needed a full charge or whatever. I need to cruise back and exchange it as it seems inconsistent (sometimes hits HARD and sometimes hardly at all) and turns off randomly quite often. (button is not sticking causing 10 second shut down). It also flooded, and kind of kept doing so. I replaced the Cart after only a day and a half and was better. My wife's unit, has been PERFECT though so I know it's a solid setup, I just got a bunk one.

Anyhow, I can ramble on and on. Just wanted to say the Ego style batteries with the ProTank is a sick setup. Couldn't be happier. Much easier to fill, easier to replace the element, just all around what I consider the lazy guys ultimate setup.

A pic - not that anybody doesn't know what they look like. The "beauty" ring makes it nice and flush.

Great story and so glad to hear it's working for you! The ego V's have some issues with longevity. I had two and neither made it past two months. I liked them for the display, the buttons the variable voltage, etc. If you ever find yourself needing to replace or upgrade, please consider the iTaste 3.0's. Very nice. The Protank is the bomb, right? The new ones look promising, tighter draw. I'm on the Davide's now, the full and mini, and like them even better, though I haven't tried the PT2 yet, and hope to do so soon. Bit high so far. Also, I haven't read a lot of reviews on them yet, so just waiting a bit to see what others say. Right now, I think the Davide, and possibly the PT2, may be the best clearos out there, imho. Anyway, congrats on the quitting smoking, welcome to the forum, good luck, and Vape On!

Nice, I'm in the Orange County area as well and have recently got into the vaping thing. I've been vaping for a little over two weeks and my last analog was two weeks ago!

Regarding the Protank, I love it! I got mine from Sun-Vapers because I no longer trust my local house after being sold a fake eGo C Twist from them and being charged twice what online retailers sell for (I could understand the margin if it was a Joyetech version, but a knockoff at a higher price made me lose my confidence with the local B&M shop)...

I saw the Protank 2, it kinda neat that you can disassemble it, but I personally like the fixed version, it kinda eliminates any leaking issues due to user-error of reassembly other than the large o-ring that keeps the juice in on the bottom cap...

As for the fixed drip tip, I have no comment on it, since I've only used the fixed cylindrical type, I think I have to go check out other types to be able to comment about that...
