Welcome! Today is my 3 week e-cig anniversary! I also started with a tank system. I got the ego-t. I was really excited to get it and thought I would totally love the convenience of it. However for some strange reason the taste when using the tanks kills me. It just seems to burn my mouth and I can't taste the flavor, just chemicals. I made sure I wasn't inhaling too hard to get juice in my mouth. And my DH couldn't handle the tank at all. It made his throat so sore he couldn't swallow. I did by accident order some regular carts with it so I tried them and it is much better. However because they aren't enclosed like the cartos they leak a lot. I had some leakage with the tanks but the carts are pretty bad. I tried a blue foam mod which definitely helps but I still have to leave it upside down if its full. And I feel like I have to top it off a lot or the taste changes after not too long. I plan on ordering some cartos to try them too. I didn't want to have to mess with them because they seem to be a lot of work to refill but if I can avoid the leaking then maybe I would prefer it. Best of luck to you. I recommend ordering some compatible carts/cartos to see what your preference is.

One question that has crossed my mind about the tank setup from Volcano (eGo)-

How do you travel with additional filled tanks without spilling the liquid? Specifically, if I have a tank in the PV and want to bring along another flavor (or just an extra) how do you seal up the tank, especially if it has been "punched" from previous use? Do the tanks come with some sort of storage cap or do you need an entire "tankomizer" unit to swap on the go?

These points of interest (portability and reliability) are a couple of the reasons I could see a big advantage (if I understand the concept and design) to cartos- cheaper (than a full tankomizer), sealed and built in atty. Only big downsides I see are they are slightly more difficult to refill and have significantly lower capacity (compounding the PITA refilling). Am I missing something??

I know, I'm already high-maintenance with the questions before my 1st drag!

If your tank has the silicone cap on the end (the only kind I've tried) they are SUPPOSED to be self sealing when you remove them from the atty. Haven't tested this yet though. Maybe I'll try the tanks some more this weekend.

However, one thing that you'll find is that with you're vaping shipments, you're gonna accumulate LOTS AND LOTS of little plastic ziploc baggies. So, you can always repurpose them to carry filled or partially filled tanks. Unless of course you're worried that if someone finds you carrying all those little baggies around will think you're a crack dealer instead of a vaper :vapor:

Happy hunting,

Just checked...

New kit at the FedEx facility about 45 minutes away. Being Saturday, won't see it until Monday :(

I was surprised at my wife's response when I ordered this- "What am I supposed to use?" ;)

I think that if she likes vaping, I will also order an automatic Magma kit (I think it is a Joye 510 re-package). That way, we have 2 separate PV's and we'll have the chance to try both styles. It looks like some items are even interchangeable like cartos and attys.

No joy... PV is on lock-down at FedEx since it is still in the container and won't be sorted today :( Oh well....

On another note-

Anyone here have or used both the Inferno (eGo-T) and the auto Magma (a 510 with an auto battery)? Both offerings from Volcano come standard with the tank setup but I realize either can be used to drip or with cartos.

I know it comes down to a personal preference for most but I'm curious about the opinions on both and especially wondering about interchangeability for pieces/parts.

Thanks!

I bought a magma and a drip tip at VaperCon and dripped it on my eGo 1000mAh battery. Worked great but a bit messy if you over drip it.
