Explosions? or just low quality and not the mah as adverstised?

Umm, both...the max amp ratings and mah ratings seem to be whatever the marketing department decides. Low quality, short battery life, problems charging, missing or faulty protection, non-IMR safe chemistry, not high drain, etc....just not recommended for vaping. Maybe for a flashlight, if you can charge them in an explosion proof bag away from all flammables.

A good quality battery will last you a year or longer, hold a charge better and the cost is a buck or two per battery. They are actually one of the cheaper accessories we buy for vaping...:)

There are no good 18650 li-ion $3 batts.

What PV are you using these in and what's the lowest you're going to go in atty resistance if it's a mechanical?

I don't plan on using any RBA's or RDA's on it, just the carto it came with...I am not ready for custom coils, etc.

I got a cheap mech...

All of the above.

what is a good link for a few good 3 dollar batts?

No such animal. Batteries are THE most important piece of gear in your vape setup. Never skimp on batteries. If in doubt, choose the red AW IMR batteries.

it has an extender

OK, if you're never going to use these batteries at less than stock ohms in a mech mod I would get the Panasonic NCR18650PF 10A, 2900 mAh. Illumination Supply has them at a good price. Orbtronic does also, but they're more expensive. I'm sure other suppliers will have them also, but these two and RTD Vapor (who don't have them) are the suppliers I know best and trust.
