I would say start with an EGO style battery that does variable voltage (EGO Twist, Vision Spinner). You might not understand it all right now however eventually you will want VV.
You can try cartomizers (known also as cartos), or anything else mentioned (Kanger, T3, Vivi Nova) above will get you started and suffice you for the near term (or possibly forever).
anything that you put on the ego battery, should stay at or below 2.0 ohms (ohms is a measure of resistance). Once you start picking things up you will start to understand that the battery has a dial on the bottom of it which determines how much voltage is sent to the device attached to the battery.
What this translates into is how much heat is produced based on the voltage and ohms (resistance) the device has. Modifying the voltage can make a bad tasting juice taste good, or make a good tasting juice taste bad. Basically it allows you to "dial in" the taste for you based on the device you have on the battery.
