I just ordered some ultrafire 18650 3600 mah and some 4000 mah 18650's online to use in my provari once it arrives. At first I thought it was cool because i had never seen mah that high on any vender's site so i jumped at em....then i got to thinking if the venders dont carry them it must be for a reason so my question is Should I be concerned? The last thing i'd want is to fry my circuit board trying batts this high on this expensive PV.

as long as the voltage is right i don't see why it would be a problem... wherever you ordered them from might have lied about the battery capacity though. not sure how often this happens as far as things like this but car audio suppliers lie basicaly every time about there amplifier outputs unless its a very high end brand or someone very reputable

i would go with the 18650 imr batteries that are recommended. there are reasons why they are considered better batteries. Kevin go to the provape thread and ask your questions there:)

Yep. I've not used a provari personally, but based on the design, it appears to be one that would suggest using IMR batteries.

Ask the provape guys what they suggest. AW is good brand to go with, albeit more expensive compared to others. On the other hand, IMR batteries are less expensive than Lions in general, so it won't break the bank. You might even be able to find someone to swap them with, as a lot of mods don't require IMR batteries once you reach the 18650 size.

I've seen far FAR more overstated battery capacity values than accurate ones. The further off the 'normal' range, the more likely they're even worse than other batteries. I do indeed hope for the best here but I'd be careful and look for problems and inconsistencies early on before they result in something dangerous. Losing your investment is only one possible outcome of a bad battery purchase. -Magnus
