OK, OK. I am a Noob and need HELP! I have been vaping for over 6mths now and cig free after 48yrs! :2cool: I have worked my way up the learning curve (somewhat) from 650 starter kit, to 1300 Vision Spinner/T3S tank (andmore) to the other day, a Sigelei Zmax V-5!! My Zmax came with;
* Zmax mod (stainless steel)
* 1 battery charger (junk)
* 2 batteries, "Sigelei" 18350 and 18650mah.
* disposable carto tank (junk)
* cell phone charger adapter (V-5 version, level 9 on menu) (and probably never use)
*** I paid $69.00 for the kit and free shipping. It got here (FL) in 3 days from California!! Wow! ;)

I ripped open the box and charged my 18650 (2200mah 3.7v) and started to get aquainted with my new MOD!:D :rickroll:I enjoyed over 2days of hard vaping but the battery then needed charging. Tried to charge the back-up 18350 but no luck? Tried the 18650 but no luck? Grrrrrr. Looked at the charger +post and see some rust(?) around it. (it worked the 1st time?) Tried to clean for a good connection but no luck! Waaaaa! Sooooooooo, after all of my Blah Blah (sorry), I NEED TO GET A NEW CHARGER AND NEW BATTERIES(?)!!
I have been reading the forums here on batteries, chargers, stacking vs no stacking, protected vs unprotected, resistance and discharge rates, etc etc etc. :confused:8-o:?: Like the heading, I AM DAZED AND CONFUSED!! Can someone PLEASE help an old man understand all of this?? At this moment, until I get a new charger and batteries, my new toy sits there, unused.:-x
Thanks in advance to any and all help!! :thumbs:

UsingCGR18650CH (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10A batteries in my Sigelei Zmax V3.
For any vv/ vw APV the batteries MUST be:
Non Protected- ZMAX has protection and sometimes there are issues when using protected batts.
Safe chemistry.
High Drain.
Quality brand name from a reputable Vendor. LOTSA counterfeits out there.
Orbtronic - Panasonic CGR18650CH With Top Button, 2250mAh IMR High Drain 18650 Battery Cell-Made in Japan
Nitecore an excellent charger at a reasonable price:

If you're ever in a bind/ running out of juice, etc FLA prolly has the largest # of Vendors around. Here's a search engine.
USA Ecigarette Directory

Edit: If you go 9/10th of the way down this page there's a map near bottom of page. Maybe easier to view Vendors in the area.

I'd be contacting the vendor and asking why my charger and batteries were junk! :(

I use the same batteries as Vapoor eyes er and they are great. I recently got a Nitecore i4 charger and they charge and vape like champs.

It's a confusing world, the battery world. I figured the rechargeable batteries you see in ASDA would do...oh dear. You are not alone with being staggered by the choice and range, trust me!

Avoid stacking too, I can't go into specifics but I've gleaned a bit from the forums and if you are not on the ball and organized, it may end in tears. What's annoying is my mod came with two 18350 batteries and seemed to suggest stacking was perfectly fine. Whilst I'm sure it is for thousands of others, I'd rather not take on any unwanted risk....Plus outside of work I'm probably the least organized OCD person you will ever meet...:facepalm:

Welcome to the forums though, and hope that mod is firmly up and running soon!

:D

Well, thanks to all for their input! I ordered last night from Orbtronic a Nitecore i2 charger and 2 (can't order just 1)Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries as recommended by a poster here using a similar Mod, Zmax v3. (Mine is the v5, but really no difference.) Cost for all was $35 and free shipping. ($17.10 for 2 batteries and $17.99 for the charger) I think it was a good deal all things considered and will be delivered in a few days! I doubt I coulda' saved any more on these but even so for a buck or two, I couldn't wait messing around the 'net shopping. I WANNA START VAPING MY NEW MOD as soon as possible!!:vapor::D

Side Bar. I think this site is AWESOME!! In the past months I have spent time reading the various forums and LEARNING ALOT! Thanks...

You're welcome. Understand many battery suppliers "re wrap" batteries from larger batt manufacturers. Panasonic is the most popular batt re wrapped by these companies. Understand also many unscrupulous Vendors will re wrap old batts, put new ends on them and resell. Any batts with the name "Fire" in them are to be avoided.
Realize also these batts are good for about 300 recharges/ cycles. If you recharge at 50% capacity it's only 1/2 cycle. I recharge my batts at 3.6'ish volts and they're still going very strong.
Best of Luck and you'll find the Nitecore is a fast charger.
