I got a new Vamo a little over a week ago, and I must say that, to me, it is quite lacking. Compared to my MVP2 or even my Vision spinner, the hits are quite weak and lacking in flavor. I am using a KFL+ clone at 1.6 ohms with the voltage set at 4.1. The same settings that I use for my MVP2. The MVP gives me thicker clouds with far more flavor than the Vamo. Oh well, that's $50 down the tube.

Mine is the RMS only version. That is what I thought too so I held the minus button down for like forever and it did not change. I concluded that it is RMS only.

You hold the - button down for..
after about 2 seconds it shows batt volts
then after 10 seconds it shows RMS or MEAN.

If it doesn't do that then I guess it's RMS only, which is GOOD. (Mean is useless and only a mathematical happenstance).

But that wouldn't be the problem.

More likely the difference is you are using an 18350 low drain battery and a relatively low ohm coil so the battery you have isn't delivering as much power as the mvp battery.

Otherwise maybe you're also getting some losses on the endcap center spring.

Also:
The MVP gives a better output.. I forget if it's a 800Hz output or a flat dc output; while the vamo gives a 33Hz output; usually at 6 volts, time modulated to average to a lower voltage. I doubt it should make much difference.. but, it's a difference.

Mine displays "short" every other time I try to fire, regardless of topper. Every time I change toppers I have to fiddle with the contact to make it work. I put a topper on, it works, I take the topper off to refill, put it back on, and it won't work until I fiddle with the 510 connector some more. The ohm meter always reads high compared to my volt meter, provari and my MVP (which always read the same). Take it out for the day, works for a while, then just stops working, despite a 4.0 battery reading. Personally I regret buying mine. It's way too long with just about every topper, unreliable, the threads feel like sandy underwear. Cheap Chinese junk if you ask me.

The MVP has a fiddly 510 connector as well, but has been a much more reliable device for me. YMMV

I have had to replace the o-ring in the 510 connection of my Vamo. That fixed it.

I do agree that the Vamo is just long and rather unwieldy in 18650 mode. That sucker is just huge with a kayfun 3.1. Gi-normous!

OK sized in 18350 mode but 18350 batteries don't last very long.

I would love to see the parts available separately to make it a "Mukey". That looks great! Its a bottom and top piece that allows you to split the control head and the battery tubes to mount them side by side. Giving a form closer to a box mod and reducing the length from stupid long.

The insulator ring around the center pin.
Had to change mine after about 3 months use.

the top is pressfit; was a pain to get it off but having got it off once, and knowing how how it's made up (and also now that I got myself a vice) it will be easy for me to do it again if necessary or to change the pcb board inside if necessary.

I like the simplicity of the vamo - except for the pressfit - they should make that a screwon.

That thingy is for an ego battery and a tank.
The Vamo Mukey is where the Vamo batt tube is on one side and the control head is on the other. Then a topper of your choice goes on the control head.

Kinda the same idea as the ego thing you found.

Oh; so I guess it's actually smaller than the mukey base then..

looks like it is 16mm which would be like eGo 14mm size, and the mukey base looks like it's 26mm which is more mod sized 22mm.

thanks.

I've got the old V2 version, but is new, read about a couple problems others have had, but I've had none. Mine fires stronger than my evic, if I can trust the readings I'm reading, but it's set 1 watt lower than my evic, both running PT2's, so they're not turned up at all, 6 & 7 watts. I did think it took for ever for the RMS mode to actually change, I'd try it again, and hold it longer. For less than 1/2 the price of my evic, it's a good deal.
