Well, I have a little different angle on this. I frequent several local shops where the guys are knowledgeable, and heavy vapers. There's a new shop in the area that just opened and I dropped in one morning--I was the only customer in the store. Had a pleasant conversation with the young guy, and he seemed pretty knowledgeable. But then he mentioned that he was not a vaper, in fact had never vaped! Of course, I was vaping my head off, and it just about freaked me out. I suddenly felt very self-conscious. I didn't feel I could take anything he said seriously. Was I wrong for this? Haven't been back since....

My local vape shop is pretty nice, it's small and it's the owners 2nd business but it has grown so much I believe his other business is almost his 2nd one now LOL! When they opened it was mainly ego's and starter kits but one of the employees is really heavily into mechs and rba's and he talked the owner into a display case and to start selling mechs and rda's and such. The owner doesn't rebuild at all but his other employee does 100% of the time he says.

They sell very good products and they come in on their days off to help people build and whatnot. They even give their personal cell phones out for people to contact them with questions. Which I think is awesome. They are all very knowledgeable on everything they sell and have no problems telling me if a product is crap or not (usually not infront of other customers) they know I have been vaping for a while and i am into rda's and more complex devices and builds so they are upfront with me and it's really nice how down to earth they are. When I first walked in the guy looked at me as just another young guy who didn't take it seriously (yes, I am young) but I told him my story and let him know that "hey i'm not an immature idiot here!" and he realizes that I take vaping very seriously and I also spend a lot of money at his shop XD

I have heard of crappy vape shops that just seem to be in it for a spur of the moment type thing for extra cash and that's sad. I hope more and more vape shops open, I hope they get as popular as gas stations <3 and I hope all open with knowledgeable employees who want to help every single person who walks through the door.

When I smoked there were a few people in my local smoke shop that hadn't smoked a day in their lives. As long as the employee is knowledgeable on certain things then there isn't a real problem. However experience gives you wisdom and the more experience you have the more you can share with other people. He might read a lot about vaping but when it comes down to more complex vaping topics I wouldn't go to him in particular for those questions.
