Unfinished Collector tank?

I posted in another thread but I thought I would get better results here..



Ok just got a full collector tank setup today (bottom) the old one is (top of pic) both measure the same but I can't get the new one to tighten down all the way. Looks like its missing the inside shoulder to go over the o-ring. If you can see in the pic the threads on the new one come all the way to the end. (Old one on right, new one on left) Anyone else have this problem?

Does it bottom out with O-ring off?

Just got full collector earlier too and same as the old one spec wise. Control ring had tighter pattern knurling, but that was only difference.

I don't use O-ring on the connector, but to each his own. You could return it to COV or run it with no O-ring.

That one must have missed a machining recess cut somewhere down the line for O-ring clearance.

Haven't tried without the o-ring, but I was thinking the same thing about the it missing the cut.

Edit: it does bottom out without the o-ring...

Yeah, it slipped thru a cut somewheres. Happens to the best of us. I've given up counting how many times I've missed s@#$ while running a lathe.

I blame aging!
