Awesome addition to the video collection mahn.

The first time, I tried it the hard way, but live and learn, right?

I'm always rocking some unflavored in several Reos and even cut my flavored juices by 50% or more with it. Really is amazing how much you can cut the flavored juice and still get great flavor from it.

I keep a bottle of unflavored nic around, at the same level as the flavored juice I vape; 6mg/ml. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I don't want full on flavor, so I'll cut the flavored stuff by 25% or 50%, when just a hint of flavor is enough. I've been making all my own juice for 3+ years, and I've found myself cutting back on the total flavoring in a lot of my recipes; especially for dual coil set ups.

I have switched to unflavored nic VG and a little water to 90% VG and it is good. I don't "wear out" my taste buds. I was amazed at how good it is and buying in bulk then diluting with VG is so cheap. A 100 ML bottle of my favorite mix vendor is $60 while the liter I bought of 100mg/ml base was $45 on sale, literally hundreds of dollars saved.

The tip on wide mouth spice jars is good, I hate the little brown ones. As for light - the reason for the brown jar - I think it is pretty dark in my freezer, especially when Mrs CMD puts a bunch of stuff over my plastic box . [One day I'll stay inside while I close the door to see if that little light really goes out.]

Sometimes though, I do like a little flavor. I pull of the drip tip of the RM2 and just drop 2 - 3 drops of something from Nicoticket or HHV, vape it; when I detect that the flavor is near gone [or when in doubt] then I squonk it with unflavored. [After watching the video on adjusting the coil on the RM2 I know exactly were my coil and wick are located so I hit it every time.] I have yet to detect any flavor in the remaining juice. This is another thing I like about the Reos, the ability to treat the RM2 with very small amounts of flavored when I want to but don't have an atomizer full of something sitting around when I just wanted a small taste.
:toast:

Thanks

PS: The coils stay clean.

Wouldn't it be a little more accurate to say, pour 12ml of water into your dispensing bottle and then mark the outside, rather than using (3 or 4!!) a ruler, which does not take into account the thickness of the bottom of the plastic bottle?

I realise that it's no big deal if you're making big batches if you're off a mg or two in your final concentration.

Also, i buy nic in 2 different concentrations:
100mg/ml for myself, because i am quite happy to do the maths and i make a batch of flavoured liquid - 200ml+ at one time, and only vape at 3mg. 200ml lasts me 3 or 4 weeks.

36mg/ml for HRH, who hates doing any calculations at all. Since she vapes at 18mg, all she ever has to do is a 50:50 dilution. She makes a litre of this 'batch liquid' at a time and adds (or not) her flavour afterwards as she likes. The size of her batches and the relatively weak nic liquid means any errors she may make are unlikely to poison her!

Re: air hole position. I use a CLT on my Reo and if i give it a good squonk and the airholes are not at east and west when i vape it....it will leak.

Just a quick thing to consider about unflavored. Not all nic base is created equal. It has been mentioned In the diy section that different vendors taste different. I'm lucky and found a good vendor first try. And yes the taste of unflavored changes as a direct result of percentage of vg/pg. I find 70/30 to be the sweet spot for me.

Super_X, this post did motivate me to try some unflavored.

I've been vaping DIY for a while - very happy with a couple of my own flavors, so the savings are already there, but I just figured I'd give it a shot for kicks. So last time I mixed, I whipped up a little 66/33, and today was "Bath Day" for my Reo, so all nice and clean, I reloaded with the unflavored.

And I must say, I kinda like it! It definitely HAS a flavor, too - it's not just tasteless vapor.
So - anyone just starting DIY - it's a great way to get going...

I could easily see following a previous posters concept of keeping a Reo loaded with unflavored, then dabbling with different flavors by dripping them - a "variety Reo" if you will. Of course, I only HAVE one right now, but one of these days, I plan to fix that.
