Unflavorful harsh taste

Hey, guys. I just got an e-cig from my bro and it was working fine for the first few days, but now my vape's got a harsh taste and is most unflavorful.

I have a Vapros Spinner II battery and an iClear 16 vw/vv clearomizer (whatever that is).

The taste was great for the first few days but then it started getting harsh so I asked him if I should change the atomizer and I did to no avail. The mouth piece and the atomizer don't align perfectly and now smoke fills the chamber that keeps the liquid. And the top of the atomizer glows red when I attempt to vape (is this supposed to happen? I don't remember it happening before). I did a little research and read that you must keep the atomizer strings wet with liquid so it will work and so I filled up the chamber to give the strings a good wetting. And the taste came back a little and the harshness was mostly gone but this was over an hour ago. So I made dinner and charged my e-cig because the battery ran out and when I came back the good flavor that wasn't quite as good as it was when I first got is gone and now it's really harsh again.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

And by the way I've tried changing the voltage a bit but it doesn't do much. I had it on 4.3v before and it worked great. I don't know what happened.

Did you change the whole tank out or just put in a new coil? If it's the 4 strand option and you changed the coil there should be a white rubber piece that sits between the coils and the mouth piece to make a seal. That would eliminate the smoke filled chamber.

If it's the 2 strand style that doesn't have the replaceable option then its my guess that you were sold a bad tank as there is no way to take out that plastic center cap.

Main thing with any new atomizer, is to insure the wick gets fully saturated with juice before taking that first vape. If one vapes it to soon, likely some damage, singe of the wick, so to speak, can hamper the quality of the vape and life of the coil head.

Once a coil and wick are used for awhile, it will tend to gunk up and will see some vape loss. Some can be cleaned with like mouthwash, vodka, that sort of thing to reuse. But once the vape becomes unvapeable, wick must be changed. Proper usage and maintenance of ones gear will extend the viability of the vape.

Often harsh dry hits is a sign of wicking issues and lack of juice, usually telling ya that ones wick is being burnt, and one is smoking fiber. Could be either vaping at to high volts/watts for your gear or simply be out of juice.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Welcome to ECF...!

For good taste, a good coil primed before usage is a necessity, changed prior to it burning the wick is the key to good taste consistently.

Coils are cheap, and they will keep people off cigarettes if operated correctly.

We live and learn, I did things similar when I began vaping, there is a learning curve, once reached, you have it made.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I have the four strand option. Is the thing with the strands, the atomizer, also called a coil? And the wick is the four strands? And the rubber tip that sits between the coils and the mouth piece is slightly off (I've tried lightly forcing it into position but that did nothing) so smoke gets in the chamber. Is buying a new atomizer the way to go? I'm guessing I ....ed the one up that I have by not soaking it in liquid enough.

Yes the strands are your wicks and they will pull liquid to the coil. Both items are part of the atomizer which essentially would be the piece that sits in the tank, that you screw on to the base that connects to the battery. With it being off center, even a tiny bit it could be cutting of liquid flow for one or more strands. Which can cause lack of liquid at the coil, giving you that burnt taste. Sadly once you start to notice a burnt taste it will linger till you replace the atomizer section. Next time make sure its on there correctly, there are little slots that line up above each wick strand. Fill the tank and let it sit 5-10 minutes, take a few primer puffs( inhaling with out firing the device) and you should be good as new.
