continuing from a previous post i made re DIY juices i thought best make a new thread to save going off topic.

I have been made aware and bookmarked the page re how to mix. have also had many replies from all of the helpful people on here with the maths behind mixing..

while browsing some UK based DIY liquid sites i found unflavoured VG and PG liquids.

would i be right in thinking i can buy these and just mix with flavours or would i still need something to dilute it as well?

the page if found only sells 27mg and 54mg mixes..
im also guessing im best off having the 27mg strength as im aiming for a lower overall end mg strength.
probably 12 maybe less..

i have just gone down a level in the pre made juices to 18mg from 24mg and its still making me dizzy in the kayfun 3.1

I have premixed unflavoured 18mg nic in two bases: 50/50 and 70/30. I also have no nic 50/50 & 70/30, and 100%VG.

I also buy 18mg Vanilla e liquid in bulk which is the base for most of my DIY nowadays.

i use the unflavoured ones to make hubbys menthol mixes...he vapes around 12%, and for steeping teas. I use the vanilla for my eliquid bases, which are usually around 6%. It is just easier, for me, to use this way.

As you go along you will find the right way for yourself. (And sometimes, I do vape 12% unflavoured, usually 100VG, when I feel a craving for nic, but that has been a while).

Good luck,
Blessings
Nancy

so with the 12mg ready mixed stuff how much flavour do you add ? does it vary on flavour type?

It depends on flavor and on the flavoring company you are getting your flavoring from. Flavour Arts and Inawera require less flavoring that TPA or Flavor West. Head on over to the DIY forum and begin by reading all the "stickys".

It varies on flavour type and brand. There are some terrible flavour brands that require up to 25% to taste decent. These are a bad buy.

Inawera (as an example) make crazy suggestions about using 2-3% or something. That's just silly. Nobody who sells Inawera shop-made will mix a 2-3%. You might get away with a tobacco at 4-5% but most others are higher (10% or so) and certain flavours require more.

I made RY4 Nutzilla (Flavour art) at 7%, then 10%, now 12%. It takes at least 10% to taste.
Tino d'Milano (Inawera) RY4 tastes of nothing at even 10%.
Decadent Vapours Lime Zinger is a lovely taste, but that's dull as 99p e-liquid at 10% - that needs nearer 20%.

You can usually google the name of the concentrate and get a forum "mixing" thread about it.

and then you have to factor in steeping too.

just dealt with the additional information overload ( again )
ask one question have to run off and google understand it and come back :D

is steeping purely for the flavour to set into the mixture?

Here's the funny part; unflavored e-liquid isn't unflavored. Nicotine has a flavor, PG has a flavor, and VG also has a flavor. You will find many around here that have found that unflavored is the best flavor. It just happens to be what I'm vaping ATM. 50/50 mix of PG/VG @ 10mg nic. The side benefit is it doesn't clog wicks & coils up nearly as fast.

well my 50/50 12mg ready mixed solution and flavours turned up today. as well as some organic cotton and some 28 guage a1 kanthal.
have been using 32 guage and silica wick up till now.

like a kid a christmas i have been excited to try my new stuff out..
as soon as i got home from work set up my lab like a scene from breaking bad.

i got Diamond Crystal VPG 12mg
liquid and some various Inawera flavours..

i first made up bubblegum 5% flavour 95% premade.. the initial flavour was nice but there was a strange greasy kind of weird after taste.
i then made a 10% mango 90% premade, this wasnt as bad but there is still a strange after taste.. cant put my finger on it as i have never tasted anything like this nor have i made my own juice before.

i have just made up some other bottles with 5% flavours but will steep these for a day or two.

any other tips or info on the strange taste would be appreciated..
i know there is a BOAT load of guides and info on here and the rest of the web.. but i cant learn that way i have actually do it to learn..i have a mild form of dyslexia and my brain just doesnt soak up information in large amounts unless its done in a practical manner.
