Well, I'd like to think that if they use the kits donated to quit, that you would allow them to keep it, especially if they can't afford one on their own. If they can afford to buy them on their own, then why do you need us to donate them?
Upon further reflection... I'm sure we would let them keep them. They can't afford the initial outlay of money for a kit. I was limiting my thinking a little. Kind of assuming that we would only have one or two kits. Even so, I can't imagine we'd get someone converted and then take it away. Sorry for thinking out loud here... and thanks for allowing me the process. Yep.... they would keep them if they wanted to.

I think the idea is to introduce them to the use of ecigs. I know many of us here think that it is not possible that ppl have not heard of them but TRUST ME we are the rare few have. I think what he is saying is to use their time in his care to introduce the girls to the use of ecig. Then for those whose families could afford to purchase one for them, maybe to help out his facility, would do so. Otherwise he would the girls the ecigs.
Either way I think its a great idea.
I haven't read all the posts so if this has been said, sorry, but you should try the wants and needs PIF thread. Good luck. I think you should be commended and this is a great idea. Most of the people on ECF are very giving and caring people but like everything else, it takes all kinds. Just please take the negative remarks in stride. Once again you should be commended.

Vapnub...That's kind of the thought that I started with. I couldn't have said it better. But let's see what the response is. We'd love to let them keep the kit. So far, I've only run into one person who has even heard of ecigs. Thanks for the encouragment.

I just wanted to be sure they were going to be given the kits however. I fail to see the point of introducing them to it, and then taking them away if they couldn't afford to buy them. As you can see from his response, that wasn't the intention originally.
I'm just naturally skeptical about "non profits" anyways.
Thanks. I was hoping it was one that didn't have the exposed bridge, but it looks like it does. If it didn't, I might have some prefilled cartridges that would fit it.
Since Hy first posted this yesterday, I've though a lot about what a great opportunity this is to help these women. Most of us know that it is the initial cost of getting started on e-cigarettes that stops some people from trying, after all, why lay out $50 or so on something that you're not certain will work for you? But, we also know that once you make the switch, that you can save lots of money in the long run.

Actually the atty looks like an RN 4081 after doing a little research. It doesn't have an exposed bridge.

I am glad youwere linked to the Women's Room and there is also a thread in PIF. This is a good thing you are doing for the ladies. Learning to use an e-cig is a great way to take your mind off other things.
I do want to remind you that no matter what is donated..all e-cig parts are basicly disposible. The parts all wear out! Some in 1 month..others in in 1 month to 6 months. So "Taking it with them" is kind of a moot point.

You'll probably end up having to play it by ear anyway. Let's say for the sake of argument that a handful of people give you some 510 parts/kits. You receive 3 complete 510 kits with a battery or 2, an atty or 2 and a charger. You receive 5 more batteries and 7 atties. If you let 3 women use and keep the 3 complete kits, you are left with no chargers to possibly be shared by the others using the extra parts. I'd actually expect (if things start moving your way) for you to receive more batteries than chargers to go with them, especially if some people are just giving you their "extras." I have no doubt, though, that you'll have it all figured out in no time.
cskent... thank you very much. BTW what part of Ohio are you from? I grew up in Worthington ... what is now the northern end of Columbus.
I'm in Kent, just outside of Akron. I'm working on a master degree at Kent State. Just moved here in January from New Mexico.
