Unprotected battery question.

Hey i have a blue joye 10440 battery in my PT. I was going to use it in the 3min lighter mod since i already have the battery. I think it is unprotected tho because it doesn't have that extra lil ridge on the negitive side. Will an unprotected battery drain beyond what its supposed to w/o cutting off or will it be ok to use this battery w/o me killing it after 1 use from draining it too much?

I always thought it was to keep it from shorting out and going boom if it got moist for some reason (dripping or a cart leak, etc)

Ya i decided i'm just going to be safe and order a protected one from madvapes along w/ some other stuff. Then i'll do the 3min lighter mod w/ the protected battery. And its a plus then i won't have a PT laying around doing nothing w/ no batt.. Problem solved!

A protected 10440 does fit in that electronic lighter right..?

protected is all I`ll use for batteries in mods. So yes it fits the lighter mod.
