Unrelenting burnt taste, Ego-T

I've had an Ego-T (type B) for two months now, and recently, I've been tasting a lot of atomizer when I try to vape. I've tried a LOT to clean out the attys (I had 2, regular resistance) I've tried boiling them, dry burning, using Hydrogen Peroxide, rubbing alcohol, disassembling the atomizer and burning gunk off the wick with a lighter, and it would usually taste fine for about 10 minutes, and then the burnt taste would come back. I ended up going on Cignot and buying two new atomizers, got em in the mail today, and after 15 minutes with some delicious Cherry tobacco, BAM. Atomizer. Tastes awful.

So, here are my questions.

#1 Could it be the batteries? They seem to be the only constant here. It looks like air does flow around the battery connection at the top, so i just swabbed everything out, and I'm now trying to clean the connector with peroxide. Will update this post with further info.

#2 Should I do a priming puff before EVERY inhale? I always do a couple when i put on a new tank, but maybe I'm not getting enough flow? I dunno.

Its not the batteries, and not likely the atty, although its good to see attention paid to keeping things clean. Its probably the juice, more specifically, how well it wicks to the coil. Burnt taste and vape is almost ALWAYS a dry coil, much more often than a dirty atty. It sounds like the tank is giving up juice enough for an initial vape, like dripping, and then it stops. Try thinner juice. Even a few drops of water in the juice can make a difference, but there is a balance between too thick and not wicking well and too thin and leaking all over. It could be the hole in the tank is not big enough, not centered well, or something simple like that...simple in theory, but might be hard to fix. Tanks, IMHO, are not quite perfected yet. Nice idea, based on an old 510 cart mod, but like that mod, is prone to wicking/leaking problems. Your issue is a very common tank problem. You can try to thin your juice a bit (will take experimentation), maybe score the hole a bit bigger (but not too much!!), direct drip into the atty to use it, or go with cartomizers (my choice!). Boge cartos to me have the least amount of filler taste and they have good airflow, variety of resistances, cheap, cleanable, hold up to 1.8 mL. There are also dual coil cartos (Smoktek) that give the vapor of LR with the flavor-preservation of high resistance. There are also CE2 and clearomizers, which are really good at giving good vapor and great flavor...think a tank with the coil in it.

Another note on cleaning attys. Every once in a while is fine, and often needed, especially with tobaccos, but the less you do with them, the longer they last. Avoid alcohol...it will kill them young. I use a polydent 12-hour tablet in hot water soak, flush with lots of hot water after 12 hours, dry and vape. Cleans them almost to new, and they last a lot longer than with alcohol, at least in my experience. Can't speak to peroxide per se, but I'm not a fan of oxidizers on electronics. DOn't know what direct flame will do over the long term, but it also seems simply too harsh. Fix the juice/wicking, and clean maybe once every week with polydent, and you should be back to excellent vaping. Or try a box of 2.0 ohm Boge cartos...you might not go back!
