I just ordered a 3rd batt for my 510, and there's a hole in the battery connector... From what I understand those are there for an auto batt. It really wouldn't bother me but I drip, and I keep shorting out the battery. Any ideas?
Unsealed manual battery?

There are some manual batts that have a hole and appear unsealed. I have a T Rex kit that is a manual, but has a hole but it is sealed. Been using this kit for about 3 months now with no problems. That said, you should contact your supplier and ask.
This the second time in two days that I have seen this. I wonder if there was a manufacturing issue and they ran out of manual 510 connections (no hole) and in order to keep production flowing they used auto 510 connections (with hole) on manual batts?? Both issues have been from members who recieved kits within the last week to 10 days. I bet we will see more of these posts if that is the issue. I would contact the Supplier and request an exchange.
Would you please come back here and tell us what your supplier says about this?

It's not a new problem I have a kit I bought 3mos ago and all 3 510 mega batts are manual unsealed, needless to say I only have 1 left and it was messed up when I got it.
Whoops my bad i miss read the title this morning when i woke up thought you had auto batteries. To my defense i had only taken two sips of coffee when i replied. I would fill the hole with solder if it was me but not sure if you have the tools to do that.
I would do that too, but many people probably are not comfortable doing a solder fill. IMO I would think it to be a bit annoying to have to do a repair on a new item. I would hope a supplier would make it right and contact the manufacturer to let them know this is unacceptable. Most people are using manual batts to drip and if they a realatively new to this hobby it won't be long before we see a boatload of dead batt posts.
If you cut a toothpick thats not to long to plug the hole push it down flush with the brass connector.
Well, he said he'll do an exchange for me, but for some reason doesn't seem to know what I mean when I say it's unsealed... I guess I'll send it back, and if the next one is unsealed, I just won't order from them again.
That'll kinda suck though- cheap to free shipping, and since it's only a 2 hour drive from here it comes the next day. I was hoping to have a quality "emergency" vendor.

The T Rex kit (battery pictured above with the hole) was purchased the first of August with absolutely no problem. It's my wifes kit and is used daily. She drips and uses both boge and Iken's SLB cartos.
So, I got the replacement, and it's the same. Just gonna plug the hole, and not order from there anymore.
