OK, before y'all get excited, I don't mean the threads on this forum. Each thread on ECF is beautiful in its own right. ;)

I'm talkin' about my latest fave set-up: my eGoT batts with 510 dual-coil carts. Although I have a bunch of the EgoMegaDCCs (which are designed to provide a "finished" look to the unit), I'm saving those for times when I don't mind committing to one flavor for a whole day (or even longer - those pups are huge!).

I find the smaller carts satisfy my varietal-cravings, not to mention that I'm a big fan of anything see-through (clear has always been my favorite color, hehehe). But I don't like the naked threads hangin' out there, lookin' like they have nothin' to do. I think Hoosier has cones that will fit over these carts, but I'm not really feelin' the cone-thing so much.

SOooo... I'm wondering if there is a small, unobtrusive "adapter" of sorts that I can use to camouflage the naked threads. If anyone knows of a specific solution to the unsightly-thread problem, I'd appreciate a pointer in the right direction. (Please be specific, as I have perused vendor-sites, and those which carry adapters tend to have so many different kinds, I get confused. )

Thanks in advance for your expert advice! :2cool:

This made me LOL! :)

Now on to your actual question...

I suppose you could try a 510 extension and you can buy those at MadVapes.com.

I like the threads, then again I'm turning into a SteamPunk. My next mod is going to be a SaberTouch with a clearomizer, I'm gonna call it my Steam Powered Nicotine Delivery System or SPNDS for short. That should stop the fanatical anti's in there tracks.

I like it! I like it!

Drip shields can also hide the threads, so 4mehealth presented a great suggestion there! I've considered getting some of those myself. It would make my Chameleon mod even more "steampunky."

You don't want to see the wicks in clearomizers until you need to check your fluid level? Is that the question?

maybe find a piece of black or other plastic tubing that will slide over your clearomizer?

Or there are some new clear cartos called G4 that say they have no wicks? They have something in there but it doesn't look like threads

Hi there! The empire drip shild will cover the seam between the carto and the battery but will not cover the ego threads. I know I have one on my set up right now. :) For that you just need to buy an ego cone. (Try goodprophets, they have them in all the colors I think.) It will cover all the threads and your clear carto will come out the top about and inch or so. :)

OK, haven't yet tried posting pics to this forum, so let's see how this goes <fingers crossed>. My query refers to the threads just above the button.

So, the cone is the only [factory] alternative for this, huh? Well, thanks for the input ... And, oh, yeah, that's a CE-2 there; thought I'd give them a whirl, as well. So far, I'm likin' those, too ...

The thing about the cones is that they're designed to fit over regular 510 atties, no? The duals and clearos are wider in diameter than the 510 atties, I believe. I'll take a look at GoodProphets, but as far as I've been able to glean, Hoosier's the [only?] one that sells cones with wider openings at the top for these carts to fit through. 'Not really sure, though ... Thanks, again!

Another idea - get vinyl tape and wrap it around the clearomizer, leaving the last 1/4 inch of mouth end uncovered (so you can see in if you need to remove and replace the seals). And cut it so the ends do not meet and leave a lengthwise gap allowing you to see your juice level and the state of the wicks.

Or give up and buy the metal version of the cartos aka CE2 aka Fluxomizer (Gotvapes calls both the clear and metal ones that)

One idea,

Go to a hardware store with a bunch of bulk nuts. Odds are you will probably find something that will thread onto the lower threads. Whether or not you will find something that actually looks nice is a different story. I guess it's up to you to decide if you like the look of the threads better, or the look of a nut covering up those threads.

You could also try an electronics store. Some of those larger switches you can buy have a knurled ring with threads on the inside, that are used to secure the switch from the inside of a panel. You might get lucky and find one with matching threads.

One more idea. On the cones, well at least my cones, it appears the part with the threads is actually separate from the cone itself. It's a silver threaded ring that is press fit (maybe glued?) into the cone. You might be able to remove the cone from the threaded ring and just use the ring, if you are careful. Or just cut down the cone.

Good luck, hopefully you'll find something that will work!

EDIT:

Well, I got curious, and I removed the silver threaded ring from the cone. It popped out pretty easily, I just screwed the cone into the battery with no atty attached, then wiggled the cone back and fourth. The cone popped right off! This leaves you with a small, silver threaded ring that threads onto the battery, and covers up those nasty threads! Sounds exactly like what you are looking for.

What a practical idea, UncleChuck! Among all the nuts at the hardware-store, there's bound to be one that's a match for me! :p

Wow, my humble thanks to you for conducting this experiment! And for empathizing re those "nasty" threads, hehehe... :D
