I never vaped intending to quit so I really didn't put pressure on myself or think about it much. I started rolling my own (nasty) and if I wanted one I had one. Eventually I just didn't.

I think if I told myself I was going to quit and I couldn't smoke I would have had issues too. But once I started vaping I realized that quitting was a real possibility. I didn't make myself nuts but I did make an effort not to. Smell was a big issue for me. I was so sick of the smell on everything and the nasty looks. I got sick of the whole thing.

I recommend not worrying about quitting the analogs for now. You might want to experiment with different resistance in your cartomizers and try experimenting with different flavors. Learn to enjoy vaping. After that, you will probably find your self smoking less and less. My situation was a little different. After waking up 3 nights in a row because I couldn't breathe, I decided that I was not going to smoke any more. It took 3 days for the e-cig to arrive in the mail. I'm embarrassed to say that it was a green smoke. I did smoke one analog on the following day because of unexpected stress at work. Since then, I have been smoke free for 10 days. The key for me is that I had the s#!t scarred out of me. Many of the other members of this forum just eased into not smoking analogs after they learned to enjoy vaping.
I did quickly decide to change to a bottom feeder for my PV. I love the bigger smoke. I'm still working on finding flavors that I like.
Try vaping real hard at it for 30 min before you have your first analog of the day. (24 mg. juice) See if that takes out some of the pow of the first analog. It might make quitting easier.

It could also be the juice you are using that causes you to not notice much difference?

Most people that moved from a 3.2 volt 510 to a 3.7 volt mod notice a very big difference.

But I haven't seen many people talk about any differences between 3.2 volt Egos and 3.7 volt Rivas.
I just assumed it was because very few people had both.

I know that once I took a drag off a true 3.7 volt mod I put my 3.2 volt 510 in a drawer.
There is no way I could ever go back to that again, the difference is so noticeable.
:)

Maybe it's me and I'm not particularly attuned to small differences. I'm happy with either one. If there is a difference it's not at all noticeable to me. No, I've been vaping the very same juice since the day I started.

Same juice + same kit = still happy!

But I ate pb&j sandwiches every day from kindergarden until I graduated from high school. If I get something I half way like, I'm happy!

Just don't beat yourself up or stress over it. Put it away for a couple days. Maybe order some cartomizers and some different juice and start fresh. Cartos are so much better to me! Or stick with it and I bet you'll start smoking less and less.

I vape 24 but I did get a bottle of 30 (Vapor Bomb peach) for when I needed a little more. It helped. I couldn't vape too much of it because I'd lose my voice if I did. Maybe not such a bad thing!

Hi there.

I've been vaping for the past four months. Just before I bought my first kit, I also bought an entire carton of cigarettes. I decided that I was not going to pressure myself into making the change. If it happened, great. If not, I'd keep at it until I found the "right" flavor and vape that worked for me. I allowed myself to smoke until I just didn't smoke anymore. It takes time to change behavior. Even though vaping is very similar to smoking in the physical sense, it's not exactly the same. For me, for the first week of vaping, I actually put my Ecig in an ashtray and kept flicking it like I was tapping off ashes. Habits die hard, for sure.

Allow yourself to keep trying flavors and strengths and discover the joy of variety. A new change doesn't happen all at once. It's a great achievement that you're even considering the change in your life. So I say congratulations to you for giving it a go.

BTW, is the voltage the same on the 1000 mah batteries as the 650?
I don't really know.

It used to be that all of the Riva Special Edition (SE) batteries were 3.7 volts, but the others were not.
But I have heard that some of the newer Rivas might also be 3.7 volts, although I'm not sure.

So yeah, it is kind of hard to know for sure now.

I've got my original Riva batteries I've had since March, as well as an Ego 1000mah and a T Rex 1100mah. Not the SE but the $29+ ones from LF. One Riva fresh off the charger is reading almost 4.2 volts. One I've been vaping on occasionally is reading 3.7. The Ego and T Rex both are comming in around 3.2 to 3.3. I don't have a regular Ego 650 but I've read somewhere on here where they also come in around 3.2. I currently use Volt auto batteries and don't feel like hooking them up since I can't just push a button to test them but they're supposed to be regulated to about 3.6 start to finish. Seems to be about right too. I get one of two weak puffs just before they expire. I used Boge cartos and when one would start getting a little weak I could get a little better vape for a while when I put it on the Riva. Never noticed much difference in Riva, Ego or T Rex beside that.

As a suggestion you might try switching the atty's from the Riva to Ego just to see if they're the same. Some atty's are lower resistance than others and some that are supposed to be the same aren't always.
Everybody that starts vaping isn't instantly struck free from tobacco cigarettes. Please don't be hard on yourself and take your time. It took my wife a while before she stopped smoking completly. Every cigarette you don't smoke is a move in the right direction. I doubt if either one of us would have made it if it weren't for the help and support of the folks on this forum. As long as you keep trying you haven't failed. You just haven't fully succeded yet.

Siwtch out from the stuff that came with your kits, try this

dual coil cartomizer

or this LR510 Low Resistance Atomizer 1.5 ohm (Cisco Spec) - Avid Vaper

A good cartomizer/atty can make a big dif, I have an ego and the atty that came with it kinda sucked (no TH) and the carts..I tossed thos pieces of crap in the trash lol! I use to smoke 1 pack a day american spirits, now that I have equipment I like im just hunting for juice. Bounty HUnter from nitelitevapor is pretty great

you should never force quitting the cigarettes. itll only stress you out more. Once I started smoking my ecig consistently, I naturally and casually cut down on cigarettes without knowing it. It took no willpower or anything. Everything came naturally. I used to smoke a little over a pack of newports when I first bought my ecig. After a couple weeks I cut down to half a pack easily. Then after a month and a half I cut down to 5 cigarettes a day, MAX. Its been around 3 months now and I still smoke 5 cigarettes MAX a day. There hasnt been progress BUT i still only smoke a quarter of a pack at most. Which is awesome. The lines on my forehead and the lines besides my mouth near my cheeks have dissipated drastically. Its barely there now and I still smoke cigarettes. They also taste terrible to me. Itll get you feeling great when you find that awesome tasting juice and cigarettes begin to make you nauseous from breathing it in. It reminds me of my first cigarette. Disgusting. Hope any of that helped. Lata

I think that's a good suggestion from Wuzznt Me. Of the five joye attys I've metered, they all measured about 2.4 ohm. The riva attys are supposed to be 2.2 ohm. It doesn't sound like much but it could be at least part of the difference.

Having some higher nic loaded for those 'bad' moments works for a lot of us. And remember the ecf. If you're having a bad moment, jump on here and scream HELP. It won't get any extra nic into your system, but heck, we'll post a funny thread or anything to get your mind off it for a while. Keep plugin' away at it and you'll get there. And, o yes, drink plenty of water. :vapor:
