I recently upgraded to get a larger tank and dual 18650 mod to satisfy my desire to change batteries less often and refill less often. Very happy with my upgrade. However, be careful as I am currently using a dual coil that came with the tank and of course like it (too much?) but requires more power and more juice usage. The message I want to pass on is I use 6 nic and have got a bit of nicotine overdose a few times... something you should be aware of imo. Will be switching back to single coil when this one is kaput... which I'm sure will require getting satisfied with it again and self discipline to stick with the change back. Hope this is beneficial to some of you.

If you like the dual coil, reduce your nic to 3mg instead of switching back to single coils.
Getting nic sick from 6 just says it's time to reduce anyway....
I considered that but easier to rebuild the single coil. All about ones needs and compromises. Agree with and plan to reduce nic... just haven't yet.
But totally agree with you, a viable option and good advice. Ty

No I don't. Been on list but pro's and cons for me and haven't definitively decided yet re: making own juice. I switched back to the Q2 0.6 ohm coil and vaping at 30 watts with it. Currently this has resolved the nic issue while also accomplishing my goal of decreasing battery changes (1.5 days between now instead of 2 times a day with single battery mod (Aegis Legend vs. AL85)) and the larger tank (Big Baby Beast) has decreased number of refills I have to do. Content for the time being... if only our human nature would stay satiated! Thanks for replying and asking : )

Easy way to reduce nic is buy the same juice in both 6mg and 0mg; that way you don't sacrifice flavor as you would if cutting with just base fluids.

If you switch to 1.8 ohm coils and vape at 8 watts you will change batteries every 3 days.

I'd like to give them a try but I don't know of any TFV8 coils higher than 0.6 ohm... I rebuild the Q2 coils by disassembling them, burning coil clean and replacing cotton. So are you recommending I make new coils for the cart? Would love to give this a try but didn't think I could build that high ohms for the Q2... would love to learn parts (wire needed) or a prebuilt cart with higher ohms. I've built RBA's but quit because I can't get them to last as long as these Q2 carts. Appreciate the input and any further knowledge you can pass on.

Not sure why your RBA builds don't last long as coil heads, but my suggestion would be to revisit RBAs and figure out what you're doing (or not doing) that they only last a little while, because they're easier to rebuild than coil heads. I go weeks or even over a month before I rebuild on many of my rebuildables. I vape at around 1-1.2 ohms at around 16-20 watts single coil.

If you switch to 1.8 ohm coils and vape at 8 watts you will change batteries every 3 days.

True, a person can vape a 1.8 ohm coil at 8W and change the battery every 3 days. But the vape will be much cooler and weaker than a 0.6 ohm coil at 30 watts. As such, if 0.6 ohms at 30 watts satisfies a person, it's doubtful 1.8 ohms at 8W will, at least not as a daily driver. Flavor will weaken as well.

I vape 1.5-1.8 ohms at 7-8W sometimes, but not usually. It doesn't satisfy me anything like my usual 1-1.2 ohms at 16-20W. And to get any flavor the flavoring in the juice has to be at least doubled. Even then it's not even close but if I increase the flavoring too much it starts taking on a different flavor. You can only increase flavor % so much.

Can't even compare the 2 in any practical way, except for battery life.

You need some 30-32 ga wire. 5 wraps/ single coil. Coil life last slightly longer if you can build them in a larger diameter like 2mm+.

Also, in order 2 rock this 1.8 ohm build on 8 watts. you will need to pick up some 20-35mg nic salts. Yes, it is a cooler vape, but your lips wont get as dry. Towards the end of your coil life you can bump it up to 10 watts to squeeze out another 1-2 days.

Never had nic salts and I'm heavily invested in freebase so I can't say much on that. When I vape on a rebuildable at 1.5-1.8 ohms I use 32 and 33 AWG kanthal at 1.5. inner diameter. At 7-8W that coil lasts for well over a month, but that's not vaping on it every day. After that, the coil is still good, it just needs dry burned and rewicked. 1.5 ID coil with 32-33 AWG wire is too hard to work with so I try to keep it as long as possible. Wicking it is also a challenge, but doable.

Kennneth, one of my RTA's is a Brunhilde. It holds 5ml of e-liq. It is a RTA and you have to wrap coils for it, but you can buy pre-wrapped coils though. So, even with a pre-wrapped coil it isn't as simple as just replacing a coilhead, as you would have to carefully mount the coil to the deck and then wick it.

Well, Lower the watts = less ejuice you will go through. Yes, wrapping 32ga wire is a b*znatch, you need at least 3 arms. Gave me an idea though. next time Ill wrap 1mm and it will spring out to 2-3mm... probably

Luckly no one else has to deal with that. Brunhilde has been discontinued.

I love my single coil "intake" tanks. Super easy build also and top airflow so almost impossible to make them leak. I cant make coils so I just buy from AVS. SS coils last me quite a while with a clean taste. I would say give it a try

Thanks dc99, and yes on the SS coils... I had decided early on to use SS only for a few reasons, proven safety being one.

Many thanks CloudyFutures! I''ll pick up some wire this gauge and do some builds in my old carts and experiment with some values. Ain't interested in salts tho... and afraid to try! (yet another addiction! lol)

Many thanks Uncle, will be very useful to me. And that's also something familiar with as that's exactly what I do to rebuild my carts, burn coil clean and rewick. Hehe, ye rewicking a cart with cotton bacon takes a bit of finagling... been meaning to pick up some cotton pads but haven't yet...
Can you elaborate on this? "1.5 ID coil with 32-33 AWG wire is too hard to work with so I try to keep it as long as possible." Thank you sir O7

Thanks for the info. I have 3 rta's and made a few coils (i preferred that over prebuilt too). I think I would have better satisfaction if my rta's wasn't all dual coils. Have considered getting a single but haven't decided yet, one reason being the satisfaction I've gotten with the Q2's and their rebuildability. But single rta still being considered ; )

And many thanks to all here for the experienced advice, it is greatly appreciated : )

32 and 33 AWG wire is thin and flimsy and a coil with a 1.5mm ID (inner diameter) is a challenge to wick. Because of this, once I wind, mount and wick such a coil I try to keep it as long as I possibly can.
