Upgrading my setup but need some advice

X Auto Mechanic who is now a Network Engineer, so working with batteries and electronics is nothing out of the ordinary for me. The concern with safety is greatly appreciated though. I can definitely say a mechanical is out because I would prefer electronics.

The Wismec RX200 is a very good choice. I have two of them and recommend them highly. There are two known problems with it. One, the balanced charging board doesn't work well for in-mod charging. I strongly recommend a stand alone charger. Next, the 510 connector in the mod is not as good of quality as it might be. It can be lived with, or replaced, but I do want you to hear the caveat. The batteries I recommend for the RX200 are the LG HG2s-- those are the ones I use, and I have a dozen of them-- or the Panasonic 30Qs. Batteries in removable battery mods should be "married," that is kept in pairs, or triples for the RX, and always used and charged together as a group. Don't mix and match, is what I am saying. I'll be happy to tell you why if you're interested.

For further advice, think Nitecore or Xtar when you buy a charger. With the RX, you'll be charging 3 at a time, so a 4-bay charger is a wise choice. I have a Nitecore D4 and and I4, as well as an Xtar VC4, and can recommend any of them as solid and effective products. I like the Nitecores slightly better than the Xtar. The chargers can be safely bought on eBay from top rated sellers, but buy your batteries only from known quality suppliers. You're going to want at least 2 complete sets of batteries, that is 6 total. The easiest way I know of to keep your batteries married in pairs is to rewrap them in colors; Fat Daddy Vapes is where I bought the wraps you see in the attached photo. Finally, if you are a bit turned off by the janky 510 in the RX, I personally think the best buy in a two battery mod right now is the smok Koopor Plus. My RX batteries (the yellow set is in one of the mods):

Hi all.

I've been vaping for a year or so now. Started with a little stick battery and basic tank and moved on to a bigger and better setup. I've been using an itaste MVP 3.0 for the past 7 months or so and recently got an Aspire Triton Mini tank.

The past few weeks, my MVP has started misfiring. About 1 in every 5 puffs, the battery fires my 1.2ohm coil up to 6 ohms leaving me a horrible burnt cloud and a ruined coil. I've decided it's time to have an upgrade!

I'm pretty inexperienced with all the advanced stuff and been trying my best to get my head around it. I think I've settled on a Wismec RX200. I've not really one for vaping at really high wattage or sub ohm vaping. Just looking for a decent mod with long battery life and temperature control. I hope the Wismec is a good choice!

The real headache I'm having is batteries. I'm not use to removable batteries and I tried reading a few battery guides and got even more confused with the mAh, amp and CDR numbers. So I'm wondering what batteries would be best for the Wismec? I've seen good ratings for the efest IMR 18650 3.7v 3500mAh battery. Would this be a good choice? Also, will I need a separate battery charger or can I plug in the Wismec into a micro USB charger like I did with my old MVP?

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1: 6 ohms? did you mean 6 volts?

2: if you not going for high wattage, I would suggest you reconsider a single battery mod.
with a multiple battery mod you have more things to keep in check

merely getting a 60 to 75watt variable temperature mod would be a great upgrade at this time.

3: battery relaxation time.
lithium batteries could use some relaxation time between charge and discharge activities;
so while you may use the usb port for charging on many mods nowadays, it is better to use an external charger as the default, and only use the usb as a second resort or if the mod has been inactive for an hour anyway;
but not good to make a persistent habit of vaping while the mod is plugged in.

On my RX200, i personally love to use Samsung 25R's. They are cheap, easily obtained, and work great! Ill get a a full day of vaping using them at 40 watts and i wouldnt look back! Along with that, I would choose a tank that truly utilizes the RX200 mod! Look at tanks such as the atlantis, the TFV4, and the Rafale. All of them are killer tanks, they wont break the bank and they will take you to that next step in vaping that will really bring you to a whole other level!

Found some Vapechoice imr 18650 3100mah 10/20A 3.7v flat top batteries for a good deal on Amazon. Do they sound ok?

Unprotected. The protected ones are old school and no longer considered safe for vaping.

I don't have any familiarity with the specific one you asked about, but if you are absolutely determined to get a cylinder shaped mod, I'd lean towards the Ego One instead of the Smok Stick One. I'd like to point at that I'm saying that primarily because the tank with the Smok Stick One is, I think, better suited to direct lung vaping. I could be wrong though and someone will hopefully correct me if I am.

All that said, I'd be tempted to listen to the iStick 30 suggestion if you are open to it.

Speed Thanks for your input but I went with the iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini which I am so happy with I just went and bought another tank for a flavored liquid. Yeah Baby I found a flavor I liked!

In reference to the iStick 30 my guy at the Vape shop upgraded me to the TC40W for the same price as the 30. He always gives me great deals on stuff when he can, always does something off the sticker prices and compared to online prices he can't be beat. Even if he charges a couple of dollars more add shipping and it's a better deal plus NO Waiting.
