Greetings,

Currently I am using a standard 1100mah ego battery with the Kanger T3S tank and all is well. However, I recently got my hands on a sigelei zmax mod and I liked it a lot. I have never used a VV or anything other than a standard battery. I am a bit picky with some things that others may think or dumb but it's just the way I am. I am looking for advice on what system to get to maximize my vaping experience

- I didn't like the zmax fully extended with the 18650 battery because it was just so big. I could live with the 18490 battery mode but liked the 18350 size even more. I want something that fits in my pocket without being enormous

- My main goal is to have just one battery charge that can last a full day. I am not interested in carrying extra batteries. One tank and one battery for the day. I fill my tank and charge my battery every night before I go to bed and when I wake up I want that to last the whole day.

- I have to use 100% VG because I am allergic to PG. I have tried numerous times and the most recent I forced myself to use a 50/50 blend and after a full day of use, the next morning I woke up with a swollen throat so that was the end of that...

I can get a full day with my 1100mah battery without issues. My first battery was a 650 and it lasted from 6am-3pm before it died. I vape 2.0 mil per day. I am fully satisfied with my T3S tank because it holds enough juice to last me the full day. The only issue I have is sometimes I need to dab the coil because it seems like it clogs up from the 100% VG. I did order some VG juice from Velvet Cloud which thins out their juice with distilled water so I am hoping for better results from that.

I have read that the 18350s don't last long at all but the 18490s are supposed to be 1400mah which should last me the whole day because my 1100mah does the job. Am I right in this assumption? Would the zmax or similar VV product give me a better experience with the 100% VG juice?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My local vape shop is getting a shipment of zmax in next week but I would like to know if I should even bother with it. If the 18490 wouldn't last me a full day that would be a deal breaker

Thanks!

The ego battery is a regulated 3.7 Volt battery. The resistance of your coil and 1100mAh rating is going to be the factor in your battery life. With a variable APV, you can control the voltage, so the resistance and mAh ratings are still the main factors, but the variable Voltage capability will also play a large role in your battery life.

All my liquids have less than 50% PG, and I just can't stand using a non-variable battery/PV with my typical delivery method, carto-tanks. You'll be cranking up your voltage higher than most of the people on the forum, but yes..to answer your question.

I'd also like to add, have you tried PEG? It's really popular in Europe, and people that react to PG don't react to PEG..for the most part. There's always going to be at least one person that will react to VG, PG, and PEG.. Look into PG400.

You seem to have two issues here: battery time and a juice attachment issue (poor wicking due to needing 100% vg).

There aren't alot of smaller mods that use an 18650 battery. Most tend to be on the long side of things. I do have a couple of options in mind however.

The Smoktech Variable Voltage Gripper uses an 2000mAh 18650 IMR battery. It is a "gripper" style box mod with variable voltage, 3 button control, top fire button. Built-in ohm and battery meter. It has a nice LED display. It has a "rubberized" black plastic body. Its not the most durable mod, but it is lightweight and pocket-friendly. $38.00

The Reo and Vapage VMod-XL are two popular mechanical bottom feeding box mods. I have the VMod-XL so I will discuss that one. I use an AW IMR 18650 battery 2000 battery which gives me nearly two days between battery changes. It has an internal juice tank which has a 9 ml capacity. I use a typical drip atomizer. The juice is fed to through the bottom of the atomizer by pressing the juice bottle through a hole in the body of the mod. You can enjoy several puffs after each feeding. There are accessory body shells available to customize the appearance of your mod. $85.

Since an atomizer does not use wicking material, there will be no issues using a 100% Vg juice. You get the full unadulterated flavor of a drip atomizer with the convenience of a tank.

My favorite mod is the Mini Provari. Stainless steel bar stock is probably the most durable VV mod made. Made and assembled in USA. 1 year warranty, option to purchase a second year. Even after warranty expiration, Provape will continue to service your Provari for as long as you own it for reasonable fees, and have it back into your hands within a weeks time. LED display, built-in ohm and battery meter. One button control. Extremely dependable and consistant voltage regulation from the beginning of the battery until it is replaced. Default battery is an AW IMR 18350 battery, but with extensions can accept an 18490 or 18650 battery. $160.

Thanks for the reply. I have never heard of PEG before. I will look into it a bit. I do love the vapor production of the 100% VG though but all of my local shops only carry blends and I was looking for a way to avoid shopping online. I believe the resistance of the coils on my T3S are 2.2.. I don't fully understand the resistance and stuff yet. I am a noob when it comes down to the specifics of ohms, voltage, wattage etc..

I do like the idea of VV because you can adjust it for each flavor to get the best results every time. But that is just a bonus for me. My main concern is getting a full day off of one battery. If I can have a VV set up and last a whole day without changing batteries then I will be in heaven. The zmax costs 75$ for the whole kit at my local shop. I will pay that in a second but I would hate to pay for it and the 18490 doesn't last me the whole day

I haven't had the need to try PEG, and I'm not a DIY'er, so I don't know of a vendor that I'd want to use that would supply it. I've read it offers a middle ground between PG and VG, as far as vapor production, taste, and feeling.

You don't need to know ohm's law to vape. I use 2 Ohm single coil cartomizers. The higher your resistance, the more voltage you'll need to apply to it to get the same flavor and vapor production, but you will have a cooler vape... I'm fighting not to put formulas and equations in this post.. I DID IT!:)

Dang, those are sexy! I was thinking about getting a Vmod XL, to try out the bottom feeders. Hate the look of the Reos (Sorry, I think they look hideous) and am now sure I want to get one. Thanks yet again Baditude.
