I've had my 510 for about a month now, and I'm just not all that thrilled with its vapor production. Its a joyetech 510 tank system, It uses tank atomizers but I just think they are letting me down. I bought one from kingpin cigs, it was okay for a day until it started tasting burnt. And the other ones from Joyetech seem to weaken very easy resulting in poor throat hits and hardly any vapor, and their only a few days old.

So rethinking the thought of getting an Ego style, I cared less about it being alittle bigger then your normal e-cig styles. I figured if they last for a couple days or even for 8 hours at a time then I would be set the whole day not worrying about charging and all.
Next thing I wanted was a variable voltage battery, they say more voltage creates more vapor. So I came across a good website offering some, and I settled on Visions variable voltage spinner battery.

eGo VISION Spinner Variable Voltage eGo Battery | Variable Voltage Vision Spinner eGo eCig Replacement Battery for eGo Electronic Cigarette

With a good battery set up, I went into researching whether I should get tank atomizers for it or clearomizers. The links below show both, I think I'll try both and see how they work out. I figure that one 510 T atomizer costs around 10$, but with Ego you get 5 for 11$.

5 Pack eGo C Electronic Cigarette Replaceable Atomizer Heads from The Home of the Best Selection of eCig Kits, eCig Accessories, and eLiquid

Heres the clearomizers people have been saying are very good. They also have CE5's for 1$ more which have great reviews too.

eGo CE4 Vision Clearomizer (Holds 1.6ml | 2.0ohm) for eGo Model eCigs | Electronic Cigarette CE4 Clearomizer

Anyway I just wanted some feedback on if its a good investment or just more of the same trouble I've had with my 510 setup. Am I on the right track ? I want something that will serve me well and not let me down.

If you have settled on the Vision spinner then I think you are on the right track. However, this is my opinion as to what you should get...

Vision Spinner 1300 from HERE

Kanger EVOD from HERE

Get matching colors... it looks great on the 1300, like it is meant to be there. Great flavor and vapor. Also, use this pic... save it to your computer. Match the ohms of your tank to the volts on the battery... you will figure it out, keep it in the green ;)

Thanks for the chart I'll be using that for best results. The 510 T gives decent throat hits, when it wants to. I often find myself taking very long draws on it to give me a good hit and vapor, which then results in the battery dieing very quickly. I can't have that when I'm out on the go.

Does anyone know the better pick, clearomizers or tank atomizers for the EGO ?

When I first decided to go with clearomizers I was concerned they would not give as strong of a throat hit VS a tank atomizer set up. Can anyone tell me if the hits off clearomizers can be strong along with good vapor production ?

EVODs throw excellent vapor. If you find you are getting plenty of vapor and lacking throat hit, you want to up your nic level, not necessarily your voltage. If i just crank up my voltage i just burn the juice and it tastes rank! Kanger makes a great product though(Evod, T2/3, Protank), and with a 1.8ohm head i wager there is no need to VV necessarily, however if you are getting all sorts of different cartos and clearos and they all have different ohms, then VV is going to be necessary

Its good to see more people prefer using this,

I learned the hard way that smaller setups can have more problems and overall cost more to maintain. I don't care if it looks bigger then a cigarette, as long as it performs very good. I've been suffering through atomizer problems and I'm just tired. I've done every cleaning method out there for them and it still didn't help. Then dealing with batteries only lasting about 40min or less isn't fun either. I have a good feeling about the vision spinner and the clearos, I just hope they last a decent amount of time. I bought the EVOD and a 5 pack of atomizers, the 5 pack cost 6$. I was happy about that since 510 T atomizers I've been buying cost 8$ a pop for just one. And some just suck right from the beginning.

Thats my current setup above but it just seems too weak for me, I been using this for a month and commend it because I have not smoked for about a month. But now I think I need something better and cheaper to maintain. However I do think I'll still use my 510 T sometimes because I still like the design look of them, but I will be using them to a lesser extent once I receive my Ego stuff.

I have an ego-T and a Vision Spinner, the clearomizers of choice for me are...CE5, it's a Vision rebuildable, a bit of a juice hog but has a good TH, another is the Kanger T3, very airy but...you can fix that, I also have an iclear 16 rebuildable that works quite well and a Kanger protank that works the best on both batteries. I love loads of vapor and a bit of a throat hit. I got a massive throat hit from the 1.5 ohm on the iclear 16. That was too much for me, I had to go to the 2.0 ohm and that's much nicer but still a good hit.

The top wicks are juice hogs but give a great vape, the bottom wicks are airy and also give a good vape. You just kinda have to experiment. I love my ego batteries and they are both the best for me. Change it up, find what you like, it's fun just getting there and doesn't have to be expensive if you shop in the right places ;) Good luck to you.

This is the exact boat I was in and I just upgraded yesterday. I had a V-Nano clearomizer on my 510 and it did okay, much better than the tank system. But the eGo is a great system to have, and is a real change in terms of battery life. I recommend the eGo-C upgrade, as it has two power options, but is also a passthrough.
