Upgrading, upgrading, upgrading.. Provari time!

Started vaping in october. With the aid of this forum I began with the kGo and viv nova (Sold to my brother who recently began vaping).. I soon picked up 2 Shan box mods that were vv (both broken, looking for a local who can repair them).. I now vape with a Lavatube @ 6v and the L-rider @ 7v.. decided today I would treat myself to a christmas present and purchased a Provari w/ blue LED, extension cap, and 18650's!! Cant wait for it to arrive (Im aware it will take a while due to the holidays).

When I stopped analogs in October I was smoking 1-2packs daily.. began on 24mg juice's.. now vaping 16mg! I make it a point to step myself down everytime I place a new juice order (usually once a month)

I wish I had started with the Provari V2. It would have saved me several hundred dollars in hardware that didn't survive my lifestyle.

Im a clearo type of guy.. whats recommended for the Provari? I was informed by a local head shop that vaping at 6v with my mod I needed to drop the nova and step down to 1/2ohm.. where do I find a head able to drop like that?

You can run whatever kind of head you want. Some might take an adapter. Pretty much anything from 1.5-4ohms.

I use these. They are cheap and disposable.

Don't get stuck at 6 volts! There is nothing magical about vaping at any specific voltage. The reason for getting a Provari is so that you can adjust the voltage for whatever you care to use. Your Nova will work fine on your new Provari .... just not at 6 volts.

So true. I vape at 4.2 with a 1.5ohm dual coil. My Provari will deliver more power at that resistance, but the flavor I run tastes burnt above that setting. I tested this out on a carto that was getting dirty. It amps out around 4.7V at 1.5ohms. The flavor was hideous.

The best I have found for my Provari is a carto tank with 3 ohm cartos. That will let you go from 3 to 6 volts to find your sweet spot. I tried the vivi nova but had to run the 2.8 ohm heads at like 3.2 volts and no higher or they burnt.

No, bigger isn't better, but being able to choose the right voltage for what you want to use sure is.
I honestly don't remember ever setting my Provari higher than 5 volts, I don't need to.

To clarify a bit I am saying that the vivi nova won't work well at a higher voltage and for me that just was not enough vaper or throat hit so I went back to my trusty carto tank.

Bigger is better in terms of battery size(more power and longer vape time between charges), and how much steel is wrapped around the battery. The Provari is nearly indestructible.

I've been vaping for 8 months now, and my favorite setup is the Provari and pyrex cartotanks with 2.5 - 3.0 ohm, single coil, laser-drilled cartos. This setup has provided me with the best flavor of juices and no harshness (I prefer a cooler vape).

For my fruit flavors, the best voltage is under 3.7v or the fruit flavor might taste burnt. For my coffee flavors, I use a voltage between 4.0v to 5.0v. I have a cinnamon flavor that I like around 5.8v. This is the true benefit of variable voltage, as each flavor has its own "sweet spot" voltage which provides the best flavor.

FWIW, I knocked my Provari with a new pyrex OCD tank on my concrete floor today(2nd time) picked it up and continued vaping. Provari just absolutely rocks. Wish I had one for each day of the week....not really.

I'm planning on upgrading within the next week or two. I'm leaning towards the eVic. Would going with a Provari be the better option? It's almost twice the cost and I don't know if it's gonna be worth it.
