Upping the game - Moving on from the ego-t to ???

I have been using the ego-t battery with an evod tank for a little over a month. With tax time coming, I want to move onto something with more "umph". For some reason the provari looks like something i'm interested in. Any thoughts or suggestions? Should I look at any other brands?

Also I'd like to know what threads the provari uses. Does it accept kanger and innokin tanks?

If you like Kanger and Innokin toppers, the ProVari is not an ideal choice. I'd look for something that comes with dual 510/eGo threading, like any eGo-class variable voltage battery (anything from Twists and Spinners to iTaste VV V3) or a box-shaped iTaste MVP 2.

If you're looking for an APV with replaceable batteries, Sigelei Zmax V3 or higher is a nice choice (I have a stainless steel mini and I've been very happy with its performance). iTaste SVD is also quite popular but I can't vouch for it.

The provari uses 510 threading. I'm not familiar with the threading of the attys/tanks you mentioned.

I doubt you'll have any regrets if you jump from an ego to a provari. I did the same when I started out, and I probably owe a lot of my staying off cigarettes to that decision. It's an excellent device.

You should definitely look at the Innokins;
From as low as the 2 VW batteries:
- the VV3
- and the best buy battery there is currently - the MVP 2 passthrough battery (2600 mAhyou can vape while it charges)

then there is the battery tube/box:
- the SVD
- the VTR
- and my personal favorite: the iTaste 134

All with VW.

VW means variable wattage, and essentially supercedes VV (variable voltage);
I vape at 5 watts and don't have to worry about what resistance coil I have.

The provari only accepts 510 thread currently; which covers most tanks; but not the evod; the eGo theading is better imho because it doesn't interfere with the airflow.
The provari doesn't have VW currently.

Well, this should start a mini-war! :)

Let's start with areas you think you have more need or improvement in - are you interested in more vapor? More flavor? Longer lasting batteries? Small tanks, or something you can fill and it will last a while? Are you interested in getting into building coils and all of that? Do you want something small and portable? Removeable battery or built-in charger? Looks? How will this new upgrade fit into your daily use? Will it stay at home, or travel? Do you try a lot of flavors, or stick to a couple right now?

There are hundreds of toppers and batteries and mods we could throw at you, we need a little more to work with! :)

What would you suggest for more flavor? I already have kanger pro tanks

Taste is subjective. ;)

I feel that Kangers are pretty good in the flavor department; some people swear that the Aspire BDC atties deliver cleaner taste. I have both and like both. Some people are cartotank fans.

I'd like a replaceable battery. Something that I can use all day. Yes, I do travel with it and use at home. I currently dont use a lot of flavors...actually just one. I enjoy the vapor close to what a cig puts out. Flavor, yes...more is good!! Tanks, 3ml would be nice since I fill my evod a few times daily (i tend to chain vape when sitting at the computer). I wouldn't mind doing my own coils sometime down the road but as for right now I don't.

If you're spending the money on a Provari and putting a cheap plastic topper on it then you should give up vaping.

I'm sorry, but if you're spending that much money you should have a glass tank at the very least. $200 ecig with a $4 plastic topper is just a crime, a total misuse of a Provari. A cheap glass tank isn't much better. If you're going to do a Provari you need to do it right and go with an RBA like the Kayfun 3.1.

Go big or go home.

As best I hear, you can't go wrong with the Provari.

I like the rechargeable battery idea too. I am going there now. It makes sense.

So you need tubes or something to hold the batteries. And batteries (there are a million or so to choose from) and a battery charger (yes, another million to choose from). And, as a special bonus, if you get the wrong ones, they blow up and kill you.

I think Provari will sell you everything that you need and take your money and thank you. Then you only need to worry about is toppers.

Ahem. You may not be aware that the ProVari was invented way before RBAs. ProVari has all kinds of airflow issues with many RBAs because of its someone outdated head design. ;)

Just saying.

I use my ProVari the way it was initially intended--with dripping atomizers and cartomizers--with great success!

Welcome to ECF!

ETA: There's no such thing as "go big or go home" when it comes to vaping. "Whatever works" is what applies. The best PV is the one that works for you and keeps you away from paper cigs--for some it's a supermini battery with a cartomizer, or an eGo, or a $3.000 Otto Carver hand-engraved mod. There's no "big" and there is no "cheap". Only what works.

We are all different and vaping is not a competitive sport. It's all about saving lives.

This says pretty much what i was going to. KayFuns are fine, but they're a CHOICE, and a Protank or cartotank or even a clearo will work just fine on a Provari.

Since others have given differing opinions I'll chime in to agree.

My personal story was a horrible, actually multiple horrible experiences trying to quit smoking using ecigs. I even bought a Provari hoping I would enjoy vaping more (at all) but it wasn't until I ditched the cartos and started rebuilding that I fell in love with vaping. I even tried the Vivi type "rebuildable" and while better than cartos, they still fell short.

This is my experience and my opinion and I know that what works for me doesn't work for everyone. In fact, I gave a friend my old, dust collecting SMOK ZMAX and went with him to a local vape shop for batteries and (on my recommendation) a Vivi tank.

However you decide to go, whatever works for you ... Vape on!!

That whole statement was rather presumptuous.
Dish out $150 plus and insist upon another $100 plus to warrant his initial purchase?
I understand what you are trying to convey but the manner in which you are doing it is kind of silly.
Heck, I'm using my Provari with a ELeaf BCC as I reply.
Do you think I should give up vaping?

I have a VAMO V5 that I run in variable wattage mode. The VAMO kit was $79 including two Efest 18650 batteries and a nice charger. I've had it for a month now and I'm very pleased with it. For me it was well worth the money for variable wattage control. It really enhanced my vaping experience. I can really control the flavor and temperature.

I use Vivi Nova tanks that I rewick with 325 or 400 Mesh and use 32Ga Kanthal wire to wrap the coils. I never get burned taste with stainless steel wick.

To make your own stainless steel wicks, you need a small torch, multi-meter (for checking ohms) and a little practice. There are great youtube tutorials on making these for Vivi Novas. I have fun tinkering with them. The taste is worth the effort....

For our one year vaporversary, we replaced some old Eco c's with the itaste 3.0 vv and it is very obviously the next step up. It gives you a more consistent draw while also allowing you to go vv or vw if you choose. It has a good build quality and is still just barely above the price of an ego-t. I definitely think this is where you should go next.

All my egos are going to be replaced by these in a very short time.

Edit for the record I have ego-t and Ego v as well I was just looking to replace my worst batteries and the itaste exceeded my ego-t 1000 very quickly.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Provari, but then I'm biased (we own 3 of them). I agree though that you might want to upgrade your topper. The Kanger Aerotank is a great choice and looks great on the Provari. It has a decent capacity, adjustable airflow, and it won't break the bank (it's $28 at my local B&M). The Nautilus Aspire came out recently and vapage.com was selling them for $24.99, not sure if that deal is still going. Either of those combinations would be well worth your while. :) Good luck with whatever you decide!
