I blew 2 backup atty's today, I've got nothing to vape with.

It's Sunday so can't go to the local B&M store. I do have a few heads for my Vivi Nova (but no wicks/coils), so trying to figure out a way to go to Hobby Lobby (or Lowes, Walmart, Etc) and get materials to rebuild them.

Does any other (more common) wire work?

Or can I find the right kind of wire at a local store of some kind?

It's Sunday, so the hobby stores/etc are closed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the mean time I'll be googling for info to avoid caving into analog's.

Thanks!

Hmm, whether you could find wire at a local hardware store is kind've up in the air, as I don't know what's close to you, BUT Lowes, and Home Depot MAY have it (I'm not really sure as I've never looked)
Finding anything that isn't copper core, plated, or silver is going to be VERY hard within your house as almost ANYTHING electronic is going to have pure copper wire, or gold plated connections (even the CPU in your computer does.)

You don't want to use copper because it's HIGHLY toxic when heated, and IF it snaps then you'll inhale particles, and cause irreperable damage to your lungs that could potentially kill you instantly depending on how much you inhale.
As for plating, most plate jobs, gold, chrome, nickel, brass, and antique brass are HEAVY in copper (My family owns a chrome plating shop, trust me on this.) SO they're out the window as well. Nichrome really isn't the best thing, BUT as the chromium is the last plate on it, and chrome is a ..... to break it's fine for it's intended purpose.
As for nickel, well...I'll direct you to this:

I'd say your best bet is to just wait, or purchase pre-filled cartos from 7/11, other gas stores, walgreens, cvs, walmart, etc. The ONLY thing that I can think of in EVERYONE'S house containing kanthal, or nichrome is your washers transmission, your a/c unit, and possibly your dryer; but if you're hard up enough to disassemble the core components of those for a few inches of wire, you're NUTS!

Do what I did, take a VERY small tweezer, or forceps (I have forceps) and re-wrap the old coil that was on it. Try to get it as close to the original Ohm's as possible and then carefully put it back together. It's doable, but you have to take your time, and be vigilant. You may have to wrap it two or three times.

I've checked at Lowes, Menards and Home Depot before, didn't find anything I could use for resistance wire :(

Somewhat related, the you can get your nic fix by spreading a few drops of juice on the inside of your forearm. I've done that on planes. Any body part with thin skin will do, just don't get carried away.

Well if you are in a pinch, a bit of research on the brands of disposable ecigs sold at gas stations around you may give you some options. Some of the ones they sell around here have 510 connectors and use prefilled cartos or a 306 type atty. Just walk into the gas station, see what brands they carry, and look around on the forums here or google for the connector used in that brand.

I've done that a few times myself to get an emergency battery or atty when I wasn't near home, and wouldn't be for a long time to get at my back-ups. Cost me $10 for a cheap 306, but at least I got a last resort emergency battery out of the deal, and I was able to find some relief, lol

Also just playing around modding once, I used the heating wire out of a dead toaster to make a genesis atty that worked decently, but that wire would be too thick to recoil a Nova head with. Its just a 16-18 ga nichrome wire, the heating element in a dryer, depending on the size is around a 12-14 ga, while potentially useful for our purposes, the wire needs a metric tonnage of juice to heat, and its so thick you cant make a small col from it.

The Toaster genesis, I used about 1/4" of the existing coils, and it took almost 8v to get it to fire decently. I was considering trying a 110v mod, when common sense and my fiance stopped me. I realized that it would eat up as much juice as the fog machine e-hooka failure, and left it on the drawing board.
