(US) - Are mechanical mods part of the problem?

I was wondering if the fear mongers who are trying to blanket ban almost every e-cigarette (except those owned by Big tobacco like Blu) and all e-juices would lose ammunition if we eliminated mechanical mods in favor of safely controlled VV/VW devices? This is purely a hypothetical and as the owner of two mechs I'm posing the question to gain insight. I do not support the ban of ANY mods.

In fact it might even be seen to be counter-productive. Nobody has attacked mech-mods. They have attacked high-voltage.

I don't think so mechs are really rare on the outside world... every time some one sees me with it they have no idea what I have in my hand, even vapers in the wild have never seen anything like it
