Yes, I am now experiencing similar problems in South Africa. My previous package was lost and this one (which is a resend of lost Package) is currently sitting at customs SA. They requested a receipt of payment for EM yesterday. I have been ordering from EM since Oct 2009 and this is the 1st time I have had any problems whatsoever. Keep your fingers crossed-will keep you updated.

I've exported from US to SA for decades. From this experience it sounds like customs is just trying to make sure that you aren't cheating on the value declared.

Your government is unusually preoccupied by the possibility that its citizens are either trying to undervalue imports or attempting to fraudulently get funds out of the country. Further, ever since Pretoria started their version of Affirmative Action, SA Customs has gone from amazingly dumb to even dumber. I'd suggest getting them what they want quickly before they manage to lose this shipment.

It could be worse. At least most of your guys are honest. In several countries a customs job is literally a license to steal.

Well what i meant is give us the option of PAYING for the insurance OURSELVES. Not that you would have to pay any extra, it would be the customer taking the costs upon themselves to secure there investment.

I know its an "Unlikely" event, but saying its "Unlikely" is saying that it can still happen, just highly unlikely.

I don't know about the rest of your customers, but i myself love to pay the extra for insurance. For $200 worth of insurance is only 2-5 dollars extra, maybe. But it can be the saviour for those "Unlikely" times when something gets damaged en-route. And trust me, i HAVE had things get damaged in shipment and it stinks really bad not to have anything to show for larger purchases.

in order for this to happen it has to be enacted with the china shipping company ems-
this is the one we use right now-

I dont know if they offer shipping insurance, --

I could ask David --

I will --

but please do not hold your breath -
this is just strictly an enquiry- no promises here ------

I don't think any shipping insurance would cover customs seizure because your trying to import a known prohibitive item.

thanks for this TB

I have no idea of shipping companies who will insure against loss or damage -- who are shipping out of china-

I think DHL do, but their rates are twice any one elses.

2.4kg shipping cost = 22.00 for ems and 58.00 for DHL

I agree --

I dont think any one will insure against customs siezure and or destruction - and non return.

you have to cop this one I am afraid ------

but maybe just against loss of the package maybe ?

but I will advise you- we have had experience with trying to make a claim with usps- for a lost package -------

they said you cannot even lodge a claim for 1 month after the last expected possible delivery date- as given by them-
and then you have to get detailed info from the sender,
and lodge your claim- which can take minimum of 3 months -
then - maybe they will pay out - maybe -

Prohibitive item????

meaning ---

if customs siezes it -
they are saying it is not allowed to be brought in -

there fore = prohibited item ---

Customs have very very wide interpretation of their rules and regulations -------

and not many -- if any ----

avenues for protest -by us, Mr and Mrs J Q Public.

Here in Australia --

prime example --

the import and sales of E-Juice is banned ----

I had a package stopped, checked and siezed by customs, ---

they removed all ecig parts and all PC parts- all USB parts
some personal items including a necklace
and some lollies, and some coffee -

then they returned what was left -
not much -
to the sender --------

you tell me --

what was illegal or a banned item about lollies,
necklace

USB and computer parts ??????????

there was no avenue left open to us for appeal ----

gone -- siezed, - end of story --------

I'm a happy camper today my order got through customs, it's in my hands but I'm sad no RY4 it sucks I had to drop the juice from the order. I'm happy to be vaping again my last atty stopped working 4 days ago had to go back to tobacco. I'm loving the Indulgence 5V passthrough that little extra volts really helps in vapour production.

yes, I am happy for you TB

most orders do go thru without too much trouble -

and in some countries, it is better to make separate orders for juice-

yes, RY4 is real nice--

and I agree that extra volt on the Indulgence passthru is really the blissmaker --

I love it --------- :)

It's been a week since I received my email with tracking #s. Neither EMS or USPS show any record of these #s. Has my shipment really shipped? Or is it tangled up in some far away location?

Need some help tracking this down PLEASE. I sent an email to EM sales and ask them to track. My order was over $400.00, So if I'm out that money this is going to be 1 POed vaporer!!!!!!!!!

Update on my previous posts: I am still awaiting release from customs SA. It is a week today. They wanted proof of payment which I sent. As far as I know neither the e-cigs nor the e-juice is a banned product in our country?

I am not familiar with the regulations in your country-

maybe some of your fellow countrymen / women can help with this question ---------

we do ship to others in SA and altho there is often a delay with customs, I think they have gone thru Ok.

It's frustrating I just want some RY4 I have been out of it for 4 months.

Unfortunately those awesome Eastmall prices don't happen here the average price here is $16 to $22 per 30ml. I had to place an order yesterday it cost me $67 for 90ml ouch  and not having a job it hurts even more moneys tight. At least I can still order hardware from Eastmall for now anyways.

When I started out vaping I did the DIY but never had much luck with it, I find commercial juice is better tasting. I never tried the flavourings made for ejuice maybe I'd have better luck.

If you got a good recipe for RY4 you can send that my way, I still have about 75ml of 36mg unflavoured kicking around.

Well thanks to are great postal service here my order just showed up. I really wish they would update the tracking info it clearly was released from customs yesterday or the day before. The web site said as of last night the last time I had checked it was still at customs. I wish they had updated the site it would have saved me $67. Customs took possession on July 30th the longest I've waited for customs to clear an order is 2 days. I had assumed that they were going to seize it given the amount of time they had it. Oh well now I'll have 300ml of RY4 goodness enough to last the rest of the year.

This is all thats listed on Canada Post web site what pathetic tracking

010/08/05 08:01 ST CATHARINES Item out for delivery
2010/07/30 02:23 VANCOUVER International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs
