USA e-Juice VS. Non USA e-Juice!!

Hey guys, I just have a quick question regarding e-juice.

Last night I signed up for Zamplebox. As I was creating my profile it asked me If I only wanted juice from within the USA. I selected NO because I'm open to trying anything since I'm a newbie. Part of my logic was that they claim to reject 90% of the juices that are submitted to them. So I would think there shouldn't be any cause for concern trying a juice from a vendor in another country (that Zamplebox has approved).

What are your thoughts on this? Should I try it for a month or two and see what I get? Or should I change my 'Profile' to only liquids made in the US?

Thanks for your input guys/gals! :toast:

Dekang and Hangsen were two of the original e-juices. Both are made in China and are highly regarded in the community. I personally have no issues with juices made in other countries - but that is of course mostly an opinion based on limited knowledge.

Where a juice is made is no indication of the quality or purity of the juice in my opinion.

Did you know that just today the "All Natural" and "Herbal" energy drink MosKa was shut down in Australia because their "overseas supplier" apparently also included vardenafil in the mix?

Something to consider before you go vaping unknown juices from unknown foreign suppliers.

Just because something is made or produced in the US does not make it safer by default.

Just a cursory search will reveal that our food-chain has had numerous examples of causing deaths and serious illnesses.

At least our country has laws that control the quality of ingredients. I know what GRAS approval means in the US with regards to VG and PG, but in China, what's preventing them from using industrial grade PG and VG instead? It's a whole lot cheaper and there are no laws preventing it, so what makes you think they are using more expensive GRAS ingredients?

You want a more obvious example? Why are Chinese made tanks polycarbonate? Are you not aware of the risks regarding liquids in polycarbonate tanks?

But it's all good, it's from China!!!

Quite a xenophobic rant there CA, nice work. Pure speculation on your part. I could easily ask the same question regarding US vendors - what is preventing them from following the same practice?

Every vaper has to do their due diligence regarding the vendors they choose to order from. My only point is that (in my experience and limited knowledge) this criteria should not be based on the country of origin. I stated clearly above, and I reiterate, just because something is made in the US does not make it safer by default.

Our food laws and regulations are some of the strictest in the world, and yet 3,000 people die every year from food borne illnesses. Following your logic, because we have laws governing food manufacture and preparation, this number should be zero.

I am not saying that food or e-liquid is safer in China or anywhere else, my only point is that food chain contamination is not a problem only in foreign countries.

On a side note, I have learned that "made in USA " eliquid, can just mean "mixed" here. In other words, nicotine, flavoring, PG, and VG from outside the country can be used, but since it is mixed here....you get the idea. The 2 vendors I mostly purchase from are truly made from items made, grown here or in Canada (fairly high standards as well). Just a thought.

Thanks for asking. Lots of opinions and we love to be asked :)

I live in the USA and I DIY in a rusty bucket

just joking - but this is a good point - I have heard of some B&M stores that mix up their house eliquids in the bathroom and only have a minimum set of syringes for measuring (cross contamination)

Personally I've never tried and juices from outside of the US and to be honest I'd rather vape US juices. I know it doesn't make it safer to vape it because its made here in the states. But I feel more comfortable with US juices.

I figure if i'm gonna play Russian roulette with juices, I'd rather do it with a hand gun than a sniper rifle..:p

All kidding aside,The reason i probably order more from U.S is because of shipping time..

I accidentally order a pair of tweezer from hong kong that took a month to get here..
I kept wondering why these tweezers were taking so long..Oh damn Hong Kong?

I just kept picturing these tweezers on their long adventure all alone from Hong Kong to my house..
Poor lil guy.:(

If i was getting a zample box,i'd probably check juices out from all over the world..
Like i would in the beer of the month club..

I think juice "Made in the US" is a vague term. When i read that, I get the impression that, all the materials were sourced elsewhere, probably china, and than the juice was made in the US. In my opinion, people need to try out some of the few organic companies that are out. I have tried some a few juices from my local vape store and it seems like all of them I cant get into. I think it has to do with the PG in the juice, and the high ammounts of artifical flavors and color. The flavor is almost always far to overpowering, and stays on ones taste buds for far to long. I recommend everyone give virginvapor.com a chance. Since switching to 100% VG I have finally found, exactly what I was looking for in ecigs.
