Anyone ever have their USB charger light go out and get very hot?

Just went to charge mine up, I came back from going downstairs to find the light had gone out and the charger was VERY hot, as if the charge was building up and not making it to the battery, if I had not come back when I did it could have been very bad :/ Just tried again and it seems ok now and cold to the touch while charging, but it was so hot to touch and sadly I just can't ever risk leaving the room while charging again which is inconvenient :(.

Think I need to get a US to UK plug adaptor for the mains charger so I have a backup. Buying replacement stuff is a pain with the shipping cost to the UK, but I won't be making another order (a few family members and friends want some batteries, and I want a lanyard because my battys are getting chipped) until I see Menthol available in 20ml and not just in 5ml bottles (hint hint ;))

Yeah I forget how the UK electrical system differs from the American, I know the Australian is very different. Not sure how these chargers deal with differing inputs - If it's a flawed charger then you'll get a replacement onyour next order if you state it, and they're giving away a free lanyard if you place an order today... just in case you missed leaford's post :)

Yeah I saw that, problem is out of the 10 or so 5ml bottles I got on my first order, I only really like menthol, which is strange since I HATED menthol analogs. Don't want to order again until I can get that. But the lanyard is more expensive than batteries so would be nice to get a free one, but no point until I can get menthol :( annoying, I miss out on it because of this, why are there so many 5ml flavors not available in 20ml bottles.

Electrical system shouldn't make any difference, as far as I know USB 2.0 ports in any country output same power, mains power differs a bit though. Just plugged USB in again after coming back to room, it's room temp to touch, it was so hot before that I had to drop it, surprised it still works.

Oh? it was teh USB charger? Yeah, that's standard, I'd have to recommend not using it again even if it seems fine now, and getting it replaced.
BTW, 4 5ml bottles isn't that much more than a 20ml, i guess discounts may change that, but I'm last couple of times I got multiple 5ml pineapple juice cause they don't have it in 20ml or not at the nic mg level I wanted.

My USB charger did the exact same thing. I've had it about a week now, plugged it in, and it started to charge. But about 5 mins later, I looked at it, and the light was blue again, and I knew it couldn't have charged the battery that fast. I figured the connection maybe wasn't great, so reached over to make sure it was screwed in, and burnt my finger.

I pulled it from the usb and let it cool, but now it won't charge anything. None of the lights work, and it smelled like burnt electronics normally smell after fried.

Thanks Steve, I have no doubt it will be.

Mine is the one with the cord too, I have tried charging 2 of my battys and the light has been red flashing blue for 4+ hours so I think it is certainly damaged.

Order has shipped and now my shortie isn't working, lights up when using it but nothing happens, no vape, no heat. Think it came free with my UU kit order as I don't think that comes with a shortie so doesn't matter.

I'm sure if this order makes it to the UK without a hitch like the last one I'll be ordering more battys later heh. At this rate it's gonna cost me more buying all these new goodies and liquids than smoking analogs did  at least it's healthier.

Ah didn't see that thanks, not got anything that small so just tapped the thread end against a hard surface and it seems to be working again, wonder how often this has to be done.

Wonder if liquid leaking into it could have caused this, had a couple overfills, thought the batteries on newer ones were sealed though.

I don't know how the computer would know what the temp. of the USB device is?

The number of watts sinked. We know what the operating temperature limit of the poly-fuse is, we know what the voltage is, and we know what the cap for amperage is, therefore we can calculate the amount of current we could sink before we exceeded the temperature of the poly-fuse causing it to actuate and drop supply to the device until the sink was removed and the poly-fuse allowed to cool and reset. :)
