At Target there is a USB converter that will turn your cig lighter/power outlet into a USB type plug. Its for charging all different types of electronic devices....Ipods, blackberrys etc. as it claims on the package.

Output is DC 5 Volts at 1amp. Can I use this device to charge up my Ego batts? Will it be too much amperage for the charger?

I ask because the wall charger adapter has 5 volts DC at 500mah, half the amperage output of the car converter.

I don't want to charge the batts too fast or burn up the charger. Anyone tried it? Or know if its OK to use. I'm thinking that maybe the charger only draws the amperage it needs from the converter and still outputs only 420 mah, not the full 1 amp. If thats true, it should be safe to use.

Need some help here from the electrical engineers, lol.

Do you just want to charge something or use a pass thru on it? If you want to use a pt you need at least 1.5amp output, 2amp is better;)
