A lot has been posted about damage to computers from USB Pass-Through use.
I'm attempting to poll here to determine the actual frequency of USB Pass-Through damage to computers.
I have used a USB passthrough with my computer with no problems, but it was an in-line battery style. Those are supposed to be safer since it is supposed to charge the battery then stop. Maybe you should update your poll to reflect the different types of passthrough (with battery & without battery), like if there was damage, which style was it from.
Normally I just use the passthrough connected to a usb converter that plugs into the wall.
I have a friend who fried his motherboard with a faulty passthrough, so for a few bucks, I bought a wall adapter - no need to take a chance. Thanks, nice Poll - I was curious to see if anyone else had any bad experiences.
