usb passthrough/charger

Hi all,

I have completed my first box mod and although it's ugly as sin on the inside, the outside looks pretty much like every other box i've seen a pic of on here.

I want to build a bartleby type mod next that has usb charging and passthrough. Anyone know of any how-to's for this kind of thing? I searched here but couldn't really find what I was looking for.

It's either that or a juicebox next on my list. Any help would be appreciated.

along with a low lvl LED would be nice.

Mine is nothing like the bartlby but Multi use..
& Thinking of modding my juicebox once I get it.

my next mod is going to have a 18650 and the charger that madvapes is selling. i tested and it did charge my battery.
the inside looks kinda like the one from this thread

his website isnt working for me. its his usb charger that looks like those that come with the disposable. seems to have a 200Mah charge capability with a led (red when charging and green when done) and be a smart charger. dont know if that matters when you charging protected batts...

Nice you gave me idea of tearing apart my old 401 charger.
That might work. Not sure what the mah charging is on it though. Probably Low.
just do some rewiring as the circuit is small..
toggle it with a on off switch never know.

Gonna have to float this around a bit.

i think that the charge rate on those disposable are kinda low. but think it still gonna work. maybe if you build a standing charger where you can rest the pv while you're not vaping it would refresh yer batts. like the one scottbee made

not truly a disposable 401 is old version.
been around long time & has better flavor then a 510 & 901...
Downfall to it is the Air & Cart.

The dispoable 510 chargers won't work.. Just a resistor and diode on those.. The 510 charger with no cable looks like the ebay one and I'm going to do a mod with one of those.. Should work great but the only drawback is that you'll need a cable with a female end unless you replace the one on the charger. hoog

my 401 is not the disposable. was thinking about using that since this thread. Will give ya a msg in a few days to give ya A Idea what im thinking of doing. & See what you say..

Something like that is just what I was looking for. Just no idea how to implement it. Any idea's where I could go school myself a little on circuitry?

well you would take the batt connector in & place it inline.
for your charging capabilities.
to make a passthru it would work also as long as you have the battery inline.
Since it does not produce enough power.

i think you just hook up the red into your positive contact on the battery and the black wire to the negative one. think it had to be independent from the on/off switch or maybe it doesnt matter cos if you dont want it to charge you leave it off. if you'd like to charge overnight switch it on and leave... after all you using protected batteries...

Agree's very much.
Thinking about trying this out once I drain A 18650 & see how long it will take to charge it. Probably should have a higher output though.
300-500 would be nice.
Been discussing this in IRC... & think we might be able to come up with smaller ways hopefully. IE hopefully be able to simply add to many mods.
