So I have been looking around for some type of Portable Power for my Passthru. I just don't like the hit I get from the slim batteries.

I finally found a reasonable price point and realiable source for them.

BestBuy has a Kensington portal USB rechargeable power pack for $14.99!

I got it today and all I have to say is WOOT! I can use my passthru anywhere.

Hope this helps anyone who like me loves the Passthru.

Also, Steve you should look up a local vendor and get some rta's made with the V4L logo on them. Pretty simple process to cut the logo in vinyl.

I got it at Best Buy today, I just checked the website but its not showing the item number as available. We did get it in the store though.

Item Number on receipt is K38021 Portable Power Pack $14.99
I don't remember seeing anything about sale.

The one on Kensington website for $59 is the same, the size reminds me of Misty analog Box. It fits in my back pocket perfectly.

I think T-shirts are the next logical step as well... What's a fanboy without a T-shirt? (I'm lookin' at you Cimyss)

I need a baseball cap with the V4L logo on it. Even better, the Vapor King graphics as they appear on the various cases and boxes. Are ya listenin', Steve?

Oh, and a Mont Blanc fountain pen with the logo would be nice, too. ;)

The units at Best Buy are on clearance, so get them while you can at the reduced price. Kensington has upgraded the product and it now includes an iPod cable, otherwise they are exactly the same.

It's a perfect companion for the passthrough, and you can charge it from a PC USB port while you're using it.

Frys has dual-port AC adapters and single-port 12V USB adapters rated at 2 amps for 10 bucks each.

I've been wondering about that too. I bet they have a long life span though.

It's not a battery. It's a passthrough. As long as it doesn't get damaged it should last a very long time. I haven't taken one apart, but it doesn't seem to be a very complicated device. I don't think the wiring inside will burn out too soon. How long I'm certain. But years would be my thought.

bump... I just got my Kensington power pack and do want to highly recommend it for PT. It charges up pretty quickly, is MUCH smaller and lighter than I'd expected, and is just terrific when you want that PT luxury without being tethered to anything. Very nice. (I got the one that'll charge a cellphone on the go as well, very handy item.)
