I thought this article might interest some of you. If I was using a USB pass through this would be the best way to do it. USB Wall Socket Charges All Your Mobile Electronics At Large

I'm not associated with these folks, either the writers or the company. But I thought this might help out some folks. I've never tried one, I don't use a usb pass through, and probably won't for that reason. Hopefully this helps someone out :vapor: vape on!

2.4 amps... But at $30 ea it could get costly to do multiple outlets and with a wall wart you can attach it to a power strip or extension cord and get a little further from the wall.

Specs:
14 gauge or larger wiring (the U-Socket includes a 125V-15A Outlet) 16 cubic inch or larger single gang electrical box
Power Rating: 12W
Input: 108-132VAC (Good for the US and Canada, but not for Mexico which can routinely dip to 90VAC)
Output: 5VDC 2.4A
Safety Agency Approval(s)- TUV Rheinland

"probably won't for that reason"? What reason?

I don't use a USB pass thru. So I don't have a reason to try it! I just thought y'all who do might want to know about it. Being that I don't use a pass thru, I also didn't know about the Wall wart, sounds like a better deal.

Just passing it along. I'm going to go back to happily vaping on my GGTS and UFS now :p

Who knows? Maybe it's a better transformer/regulator. Besides.... it has enough amps for a 5v pt.... (assuming you're not running dual coils for 3.333 amps...lol.) A lot less "ugly" than the wall wart. I just think I'd save it for the low amp stuff.

Thanks again Rick.45cal for the info. Good contribution.

Seems like it would be a pain in the ... if I wanted to go somewhere with unscrewing the plate and wiring then doing the same thing where I went, twice if I wanted to bring it back home. I'll stick with my wall wart.

Yeah, but you guys may be missing the point (maybe I did too).... I think Noodoggy nailed it... it will just be standard with new construction. Doesn't preclude you having a wall wart... it's just shows that USB is a de-facto power standard. I kinda like it. I think I'd have a wall wart for my 5 v pt anyway tho, since I may need it for "old" construction. lol.
