I'm not aware of anything accomplished by Leona Brenner-Gati on tobacco regulation. Then again, I'm not aware of anything accomplished by her short lasting predecessor Stephen Spielberg (who I watched give a boring speech claiming FDA was providing excellent public health leadership, and that he was committed to improving the agency).

Spielberg's predecessor was Josh Sharfstein, who (after I sent him a petition signed by 10,000 vapers in May 2009 urging him to keep e-cigarettes legal) banned e-cigarette imports, claimed there was no evidence they helped smokers quit, falsely claimed all e-cig companies were making unproven therapeutic claims marketing them to smokers, while simultaneously target marketing them to children as candy, and claiming the products contained toxic chemicals and carcinogens.

In a letter to FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg on Monday, Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee demanded more information about the role played at the agency by Dr Leona Brenner-Gati, a former Johnson & Johnson executive, who resigned from the FDA on May 3.
The discrepancies "raise questions about whether she was actively working in her position over the last two months, and the circumstances surrounding her resignation," the letter said.

So where is she (not) working now? That might be a clue as to what - if anything - she did (or didn't do) in that position.
