Using a multi voltage DC adaptor?

I'm making a PT using a cnc machine(ton of work already into it) I was looking at going the USB way...nope not for me.. I saw some using a PSP 5v changer...

I don't think 1.2 amps will be enough.

My 2 cents, go with a 12v 5 amp laptop transformer ( any where from 5 to 20 bucks on amazon ),
and a lm2596 VV module. Easy and cheap, and you got a VV PT.

The 1200 mA output rating is too low to be practical, unfortunately. You really want at least 1600 mA (1.6A), and preferably 2A or higher.

What kinda loaded volts you getting outta them and which one did you get?

I've got all the parts for the PT, but I haven't got the transformer yet.

Unemployment tends to thin out the old wallet.

This is the first one I found, but have since found cheaper ones on Amazon.
Though it could be argued cheaper isn't always better.

Are you referring to the 5v 2 amp usb adapters that don't always meet spec?
I figured 12v 5 amp is high enough, that I would still have enough juice if it
fell short of the advertised specs.

The iq dual usb 2a ps from walmart online, $10, work well. Free shipping if you have them deliver to the nearest walmart.
