Product Description

100% Brand new 12V DC to 110V-220V AC Power Inverter + 5V USB Output - It can convert DC 12V electricity provided by the automobile into AC power. Can be used with electric devices with power consumption less than 100W. With the multiple protection circuit, it will not harm the equipment or automobile. - Special versatile socket, suitable for various kinds of plugs - Input voltage range: DC 11V-15V - Output voltage range: AC 220V - Max. Output Power: 100W - Continuous Output Power: 75W - Over voltage shutdown: DC 15V-16V - Low voltage shutdown: DC 10V-10.5V - USB output: 5V.
Will this run a regular pass through, ie: no inline battery ? Specifically a manual KR808D-1.
If not....what will???? Is there really even a way to do it? I cannot find anything in the USA that puts out more than 1000ma at best. And I have been told that a PT pulls 1300ma or more? Please help me understand this so I can try and use one.

I have a 2000ma USB AC concerter plugging into a surge protector to use at home. Will that work and is it safe?
Thank You!

I wish it talked about amps. But if my understanding of Ohm's Law is correct, 75W (Continuous Output Power) / 5V (USB output) = 15 Amps. That's 15000 mA. That sounds ridiculously high, so it's probably reinforcing that I'm out of my non-technical depths.

As a non-techie, I would (doesn't mean you should) rely on the first-hand knowledge of fellow expert, Kent, and get this one. At 2000 mA, it should do the trick.

Here's what he said about it in an October 2009 post:

This I know, I have one, is a true 5V 2amp (1amp each port) dual car plug. This one will take you a while to get - 10 days.

The 10 days for delivery is because they are in Hong Kong, but the shipping cost is only $3.

Your 2000ma USB AC converter at home should be just fine.

A little overkill there my Friend!! You do not need AC Power Inverter to power your passthough in your automobile. A simple USB adaptor as shown by Don will do the job so long as the specifications are 5 volts with a minimum of 1000 mA’s output.

Looking at the specifications of your AC Power Inverter, it appears that your unit also has a built in USP port separate and distinct from the AC outlet and may very well do the trick. I do not see the mA in the specifications you provided, so you will have to check the literature again or go on the manufacturers website and see if you can get the specifications from there.

Hope that helps,
Sun
