Using Aerotank v1 pin on aerotank 2

I have an Aerotank 2(with V3 valve) which gets ohm jumps on my battery. After some experiments I concluded that the problem lies in the bottom pin of my aerotank base. I'm looking to change it, problem is I can only find the v1 base where I live, and the new one is much more convenient.
However, I got an idea: could I be able to get a v1 base, take only the connection parts from it and replace the one on my current build with it?

Also, the guy in the store said that the v1 base won't fit my V2 tank, because it's wider or something. I don't understand why that'd be true, considering the Protank 3 fits both my valve and the old one. Therefore, since the V2 fits my Aerotank, the V1 should too, right?
