Hey All -

I've been happily vaping with an ego twist and vision spinner for a few months now and am wondering if I am missing something even better. I love the combo and it works well but I was in the classified section and saw there were so many different (more expensive) options.

I know the best bet is to use what works for me but I just want to be sure that I'm not missing something better - i.e. I started with the crappy Prosmoke Kit (808D ecig), and almost quit vaping right away becuase it was so bad. Luckily I found this forum and found an even better Volt Kit (808D ecig) from Smokeless Image which worked really well and then got curious and went with the ego twist.

I just want to be sure that I'm getting the best vaping experience I can - my biggest gripe is constantly having to rebuild my vivi nova heads every few days because I get a burning/yucky taste, is there anything that can help with that?

Thanks - Super

Hey Super -- that's a hard one to answer, and you are certainly gonna get a lot of recommendations from loads of other peeps here!

I've been vaping for about 15 months and started with the ego-t, moved to the ego-c and then went with the variable voltage spinner and twist with the vivi novas. I recently tried the Kanger T3 atomizer and also got an aga-s rebuildable. IMHO opinion, I like the vivi nova and the Vision clearomizers better!

I'm not sure how much juice you are using every "few days" that you have to replace your wicks. I vape between 4-5 ml a day, but have 3 different devices going and I usually replace the wicks every month or so on each atty. Do you clean your attys every couple refills? If not, try running the coil/wicks under very hot water every few refills. I also "dry burn" these atties, which also helps to get the crud off of the coils.

I'm in a similar position as you. I looked hard for a new pv to buy since I love to buy stuff but there just doesn't seem to be anything out there right now that would be a substantial upgrade from my twist. A pro vari would tell me the resistance of my atty - which is cool. It would also let me use a wider variety of gear - in terms of resistance. But assuming I've got the right thing attached to my twist - the vape quality will be mostly the same. I'm keeping my eyes out for new variable wattage mods and may go that direction when one comes out that I really like

I have a Provari and I love it, but I find I still use my Twists quite a lot, especially when traveling or out and about. The Provari is well-built, a workhorse, and dependable, but it can be heavy after awhile (and I have the mini). If you can afford a Provari, I don't think you'll ever regret buying one because they are top shelf, but it isn't necessary to have one to have a great vaping experience.

I'm actually waiting on some novas in the mail and am really excited to use them.. I burn through cartos pretty fast with my heavier sweetened liquids so I've been hoping that these work a little better/longer..

As far as comparing a twist to a ProVari... I've used both.. I have my twists and my fiance has his ProVari and to be honest, aside from all the techno stuff on the ProVari, they hit just about the same to me. If I ever feel I need to kick my volts up to 8 or whatever crazy voltage that thing goes up to then it's probably time to find a new hobby :p

I have a twist and a lambo. The lambo has the resistance check, durablity, solid build etc. May not be all that as compared to the Provari but I love it. I use both of them. The twist is a bit more portable. I use the Lambo while sitting at my desk or at the house or when I wanna show it off. I think it's pretty sweet looking with the 510 U-DCTank I have on it. The twist goes in my pocket when I go shopping or am doing more walking around. I like having the two options.
Vaping wise I think I get a bit more vapor out of the Lambo then the twist. Not much, if any, could be all in my head. I got the whole lambo kit, charger, 2 batts, case, 2 clearos for $50.
Like I said, I like having the two options for different occasions.

I have Proveri, Vamo, eVic, but love my twists and spinners. If they work keep with them. They do the same thing as the big boys. Eventually you will find you will need to start replacing the twists and spinners and then you may want to buy something that has a little longer life. The batteries for a provari are cheaper and over time may end up paying back the higher initial cost. But the twist is so much more comfortable to carry in your pocket and thats why I still love and use mine everyday.

I bought a vision spinner and vivi novas the same week I bought my (crappy, like you say, 808d smokeless image e-cigs). Well, I'm actually kind of preferring the small e-cigs lately. Cartomizers don't last very long but I get more flavor, if a little less vape, than on the vivi novas. I can hold them the same way I can as a cig and they're smaller and more portable. Gives the feeling I'm smoking a real cig vs lounging out smoking some luxurious hookah. I don't know. Something like provari is for people who want the best of the best even if the overall value is really bad. I think you're good with what you have unless you want to use your provari as tool for social validation on this forum or from vapers in real life, honestly (no offense intended).

I would get a Vamo and upgrade to the larger Vivi Nova. You will have more control over how you vape, and you will get a more consistent vape as well. Also you will have more time to vape before you need to charge the battery again. Oh yeah, you can buy another battery for dirt cheap (like 5 bucks) and always have one charged, so that way once the other one needs to be charged you have a spare. You have variable voltage and variable wattage options and also many safety features like shortage protection, so that way you don't blow out the device in case you make a botched coil on your Vivi by accident. The reasoning for the bigger Vivi is that at least in my opinion I have seen that they have better build quality. I don't know why, but this has been my experience. Also, I would just buy the replacement heads for the Vivi instead of coiling and wicking it yourself. You can buy them in bulk for like 20 bucks and have enough to last you the whole year, as the usually last a little over a month. I've also tried rebuilding them, but I had the same results as you, it would taste burnt and it wouldn't last. I've never had much trouble with the stock heads burning out on me, and I consider myself a heavy vaper. The one I'm using right now is the 2.8 ohm head (high resistance) and its lasted me almost 2 months and its still going strong. I've even cleaned it a few times in water and dry burned it and it hasn't died. You just have to be careful to watch the settings on your ecig and make sure there is not too much power going through it. There is a chart somewhere on the forums that is stickied I believe that shows what voltages are safe to vape at without burning out your gear.

Interesting that on this forum, it does not have in the profile when you post whether you are a girl or a guy. Me, I'm a girl and I just cannot (or do not want to) handle a large or a heavy PV. The mini provari is just too heavy and all the mods I don't like cause they are so big AND usually heavy.

So, for me, I will stick with my twists and my spinners!

Thanks for the advice everyone - I like voodoo's idea and may go with the Vamo and a pack of vivi heads, as recoiling the vivis is really annoying. Not that it's difficult or anything, just really annoying.

I wonder how in the classified section, everyone has so much gear to sell but now I guess I see - lol. Always looking for the better device or a new experiment.

You're going to spend a lot of money unnecessarily if you go on a search for the perfect liquid or perfect vape.

Did you quit smoking? That's what counts.

I have mods not because I needed them but for the novelty factor. None really made vaping better. I waited a year before deciding what I liked/didn't like about the set-up I was using and to see where to go from there.

lol @ Paulette, I'm a guy but I don't want to be sucking on a tennis ball container. when I first started vaping I was trying to mimic an analog so I went with an 808D - now that I use an ego for a few months, the size doesn't bother me at all although I can't imagine driving with a provari (I wouldn't be able to shift gears, lol).

@Caridwen - I'm not looking for the perfect vape, I guess I'm just bored with my equipment and looking to try something new, although the vivi heads are annoying as all hell so I may try a carto/tank as someone suggested or get a bulk order of heads.

Got some Bandersnatch from Alice in Vapeland yesterday and fell in love with vaping all over again - if you haven't tried that juice, it's such a unique flavor - I love it!

If you aren't bored, it does keep you motivated.

I have a friend that uses one type of pv, vapes only one juice. A higher end pv makes sense for them.

I currently have 4 sitting on my desk all loaded with different flavors and they're all different. I definitely found my go to device, but I like trying different things myself. I don't need to, I just like to. An ego type pv got me off cigarettes and for a $15-$20 battery that lasts 3-4+ months, it's not a bad price.
