Using steam to clean out atty?

Has anyone tried it? My gf drinks alot of tea so I thought about getting a tea kettle for her then I thought if you can use the steam to clean gunked up attys. I'm just thinking of other ways because I read alcohol soaks ruin the paint on attys.

I just let mine soak in hot water for a bit then run warm water through them. A dry burn after gets the gunk off. I like to keep it simple.

I've used the frothing wand on my rancilio espresso machine to clean them hold on to it with a pair of hemostats works pretty good
