Hi All - I have been vaping on V2 cigs for about 2 years now. I use the long manual 360mAh batteries with the refillable Ex blanks. The biggest complaint I have with them is their blanks go bad quickly. I have tried all the cleaning ideas of youtube, but still I can only get the blanks to last me 1/2-1 week before they start turning my liquid brown/black and stop hitting well. They are about $5 for one. I want to make the jump to a bigger ecig that last longer and has a better atomizer that doesn't go bad so quickly. I have seen some brands where you can just change out the coils which seem cheap enough. Anyone have any suggestions? What I want is a refillable atomizer that last a while and when anything goes bad it is easy and cheap to replace. I don't care if it looks like a cig and size is not too important. just want to switch to a better quality product. Thanks!

I'd go for a ProTank (or mini depending on battery size) as it made of glass and metal. The entire thing can be taken apart which makes replacing parts (including coil head) and easily cleaned.
You don't need to go for a variable voltage battery if it's to pricy, a 1100 - 1300 mah eGo battery would do just fine for all day vaping (depending on usage).

I have a Kanger Protank 2 on a Vision Spinner and I'm super happy with it. I picked up the spinner for about $25 on ebay and the pt2 can be had there for about $15. Extra coils generally cost about $6-8 shipped for a 5 pack on Ebay.
The Spinner with a Pro Tank is a good step up. You can experiment with VV with the Spinner and the Pro Tank should give you much better results than the V2 carts. I went from V2 to an eGo Twist (essentially a Spinner) with a Vivi Nova within 1 month of vaping. I have moved on since then but the step to an eGO with VV and the Nova tanks kept me vaping.
Hi acoustic and welcome to ECF. There are so many good options and some have already been mentioned. I use Vision Spinner batteries (I started with eGo-t upgraded batteries and they still work great, but wanted to try a VV (Variable Volt)) and I really like them. It lets me adjust the voltage to hit the sweet spots of the various flavors I vape. The clearos I use are Kanger MT3S BCC (Bottom Coil Clearomizer) and I've been happy with them. Easy to maintain and clean and the coils are pretty inexpensive.

So the Emax tanks I buy currently from V2 are completely one piece meaning you need to buy the entire tank that holds the atomizer and coil once it goes bad. am I right by assuming the most common thing that goes bad from use is the atomizer? which turns the liquid dark and burnt? So, the most common thing I would have to replace for the Kanger is this? 1.75 sounds way better then $6 which is what the V2 tanks cost with shipping.

Plus the Kanger coils can be cleaned and rebuilt. I haven't rebuilt one, but I clean mine every few days and each one lasts me between 2 and 4 weeks. I've stocked up on coils, so I am set for the next year (or more). Enjoy !!

I am actually thinking of getting this kit instead now. lower price and recoiling replacing heads seems to be pretty easy. Do you know how big these two batteries are? Are they the 650mAh batteries?

Thanks PufZeppelin - What kind of wicks and wire would I get if I choose to redo the atomizers? I see a few different kinds on websites.
I like to use 32g Kanthal and 2mm & 3mm silica (2.5mm)

i have found that v2's prefilled cartridges are far superior than there blank cartridges.
they are different.the filler looks different,the coil i dont know.
i have v2 prefills from 6 months ago that are still usable.the blanks i got from them are marginal at best.
if they have a flavor you like order the cartridges prefilled then clean them using the boiling method.
they also have the clear refillables.sort of like a small ce4 threaded for there batteries.
myvaporstore.com and ecigsupply.com have unbranded kr808d1 batteries and clear cartridges at reasonable prices.

I am surprised. I have had great luck with the true V2s. The blanks sell for about $55 for 40 cartos. On sale I have obtained for less than $1 each. Are you refilling carts that were pre-loaded?

Sorry, I must correct that. I do not use the carts I only use the V2 max refillable tanks with V2 brand ejuice.
