using vivi nova 2.5 on the provari

I was watching a grimm green video and he was telling how he had 2 instances of a vivi nova shorting out in his silver bullet and the spring collapsed. If a short happens with a vn on a provari, won't it just give an error code and not fire? I'm rebuilding my coils on my vn heads and sometimes get what I think is a short (E1) so I take the head apart and try again. I've been more successful than not. But I don't want to mess up my provari or worse with a vn that shorts, whether it's my rebuild or the factory head. I think GG's heads were from the factory (whatever that is) and not rebuilds. What I'm getting at.. is the vn safe? in the event of a short, will it mess up my provari? will I void my warranty by using rebuilt heads? Will the provari help keep me safer than using a vn on another device without so much protection?

I've already decided that maybe it's not a good idea to use a vn on my other devices (vv madvapes box, vv reo woodvil and the vv Sgt army tank)

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I've been using V1-V2.5 Nova's on my Provari Mini for about a week now and have had no problems.

I have a 2.5 on my provari, and my wife is using one on her mini. Probable a little over a week now, no problems and I think I may be done searching for the "next" thing, these are awesome, imho.

My partner and I are using Vivi Nova v2.5s on five of our ProVaris. We have a 2.4 head on the ProVari v1 and a variety of heads on the ProVari v2s. We exclusively vape KBV 60VG/40PG joose.
Happy to say we have not had any issues at all in the month we have been using these setups. Joose takes great, huge vapor, moderate TH, no leaking, and no error codes!

If you rebuild the rewick the coils, it's inevitable that you're gonna get a short sooner or later. I've had several and the provari always throws an error code and doesn't fire. I've had a couple coils that I've built that shows "op" when I test the ohms. Until now, I've not thought much about shorts and how they may affect my devices.

Shorted Atomizer – If there is ever a problem with your atomizer the device will alert you by
displaying a error code on the LED display. Locate the problem or replace the atomizer and the
device will resume normal operation.

That was helpful. Yesterday I was using my atomizer on my provari and it the atomizer had been working great all day, and for the past week. All of sudden when i went to take a drag the provari wouldn't fire, but would work with my dct tank. When I checked the OHM through the provari on the atomizer it read "OP", but never gave an error code. I started a thread and no one else had seen that, my guess was it was a short or blown coil of some sort, just odd it didn't give an error code.

Thanks again, that was helpful to see someone else has had that issue and it appears to be a short in the atomizer.

ProVari Atomizer Ohms
In this mode the ProVari will read and display your atomizer’s ohms measurement. This feature is useful if you want to check what type of atomizer you have installed. If you enter this mode with no atomizer installed the display will read OP meaning “Open” or any atomizer/cartomizer that reads open has a reading higher than 9.9ohms and should not be used.

I saw that in the manual, was confused though since the atomizer was working just fine about 2 minutes before when I took a drag. Figure its dead as it is still giving me that reading. O well, will prolly just take it apart to see what the inside looks like.

Open means open circuit.

What it is telling you is that either the coil popped or is not making contact with the Provari.

Awesome, thank you. I was hoping for a confirmation. I wonder why I didn't see an error code. Hopefully my new atomizers get here tomorrow. I enjoy the tanks but really like dripping.

If you've been switching between cartos and/or tanks, you may have pushed in the center pin on the Vivi. You can either pull the pin on the Vivi, or tighten it on the Provari (not SUPER tight). Best idea would be to measure resistance with a seperate meter if you have one. 1 lead on the center pin and the other on the 510 threads.
