So I posted a video the other day that was on NBC Nightly News about E-cigs and the growing trend, and how "Big tobacco" is investing in this market. So now my local News in San Antonio TX channel 4 local, national NBC (same "mother" network) runs an intresting story about how UTSA (University of Texas San Antonio) is doing a study on the effects of e-cigs and inhaled nicotine. Again the story's mostly positive but I wonder who's paying for this study or are they just attempting it alone for benefit of humanity and to be published in a journal somewhere. I wish I could embed this video into my post, but I don't see that option. Anyways it was ran as a local San Antonio Tx news spot and here's the link. What do ya'll think?

Sooooooo............ They are testing the effects of e-cigs on NON SMOKERS............uhhhhh, are there a lot of non smokers that have taken up vaping?!? If you didn't smoke before vaping, your body built up no immunity to nicotine, so if you start vaping with a high nic level...........
I'm confused :?:

I agree with you...shouldn't they be studying the effects of going from tar sticks to vaping?

Btw, its mentioned in the video on how vaping impacts your daily activities...One of the reasons I made the switch to e-cigs is that I started taking Krav Maga classes and it helped me so much! I lost 50 pounds in 8 months and I'm so in love with KM, I mean you get in shape, build muscle and learn to defend yourself! Smoking was holding me back in my preformance and endurance in KM, plus it was embarassing that I'd get winded and cough all the time in class. People knew cause I smelled like "smoke"....so that was the "straw" that broke me to switch and REALLY do it to e-cigs...and I did! Now 3 months have passed without smoking and I tell ya, Im faster, stronger, more stamina and I don't cough! I can breathe so good and I NEVER feel racey heart beat or nerves on edge. I feel healthy! I'm actually going to test out for my next level/belt soon. And now people tell me I smell like chocolate strawberries or whatever I'm vaping that day. ;) So I have my "study". Yet I'm curious to see what they find next summer. :vapor:

Yeah, agreed! I should go to UTSA and volunteer for this study! Betcha they say they only want non-ex-smokers. Hmmm....I wonder who's paying for this study and WHY featured on NBC affiliate again.
