Once again I say hello and welcome back for today's review of a pod mod with a very unique feature, the ability to split a twin dual mesh coil and only vape half of it then switch back and vape the coil in it's full twin dual mode. I've never heard of this being done before so it really peaked my interest, the twin dual mesh coil has a reading of 0.8Ω when using only half of the coil ( A ) mode which alternates back and forth between the dual mesh coils but in twin dual coil mode the entire mesh coil has wattage supplied to both half's of the coil evenly. Uwell supplies 2 coils in this kit and the other coil is a straight single 0.6Ωmesh coil. How well does this new way of vaping a coil that can be used with only half of it firing in a alternate mode work and how does the kit as a whole do, after some info about it I'll give you my findings later in my review.

FIRST IMPRESSION


Uwell did a nice job for packaging with a clear plastic lift up front of the box, below the Crown M Pod Mod is a small rectangular box containing the 2nd coil ( 0.6Ω mesh ) and short USB-C charge cord, paper information of the user manual, warranty card, safety warning card as well as a card showing how to fill the Pod are inside a black cardboard envelope.

Picking the device up I was really surprised with it's weight or lack of I should say, I wont say it's a featherweight as a whole but for it's type of device it is. The fist thing I did was plug it in for charging to top it off to a full charge after pulling the pod from it.

The charge port is in a perfect location and doesn't tip over when plugged in. The coil that's preinstalled 0.8/0.4Ω dual twin has a protective sticker applied to the bottom preventing any accidental firing. As you can see in the phot below these coils have 3 contacts instead of 2.The protective sticker must be removed before using the device.

There is not a magnetic connection of the pod to the device instead it clicks into place that is easily heard when the pod is inserted into the device. The pod can only be inserted 1 way as the photos below show.

The top cap just pulls off and sadly the drip tip in non changeable because it's part of the top cap which really hurts the device in a certain way that I'll explain later. There is top fill on the pod but it uses a rubber plug that can be rotated out of the way when filling.

The fill port hole is plenty big and can fit any sized bottle tip without issue. Being of a dark tint makes juice viewing a challenge in low light conditions thankfully the 4ml capacity last a good long time before needing a fill up. I wanted to show you a picture of both mesh coils but my camera had a hard time with the dual so all I have is the 0.6Ω mesh coil to show ( sorry guys ).

Having a 1000mAh internal battery gives a good amount of vaping time on a single charge when using the 0.6Ω coil or the 0.8/0.4Ω coil in the single ( A ) mode but when using the double coil in it's twin setting at 30 watts or higher it drops rather quickly.

The maximum wattage for the dual coil in single ( A ) mode is 18 watts which gives a very good vape but in dual coil mode the maximum wattage is 35 watts.

I like a pretty warm vape but at 35 watts the drip tip got very warm chain vaping so I dropped it down to 30 - 32w and much happier. The device has remained cool to the touch throughout testing, ventilation holes are on the bottom.

I have no problem with button placement and it works just fine protruding just a hair, it's fast, responsive and a little clicky. There is a infinite spiral pattern inside the button that looks nice.

In a design that more and more manufacturers are doing the front of the device has 1/2 of itself being transparent showing the chipset below the adjustable airflow control. The backside of the device is completely transparent showing the printed circuit board . I like the transparent look.

Using the double coil in the single ( A ) mode I found the vape to be good at 16-17 watts while in full double mode 30-32 watts was my sweet spot, the 0.6Ω coil gave great flavor at a starting of 18 watts, it's maximum of 23 watts wasn't needed.

The chipset displays a basic screen with the info needed. In dual coil mode 2 upward pointing arrows are shown. to switch between modes is simple and easy, to use the dual coil in the ( A ) mode ( Single ) turn the adjustment wheel to the left for 1 click, to enter dual mode turn the adjustment wheel 1 click to the right. To adjust wattage press the fire button 3 times quickly and when the display begins flashing adjust using the wheel, the Crown M Pod Mod has round robin.

This is by no way a DL device and it's a rather tight RDL at that, I told you earlier that the drip tip being non replaceable really hurts this device because you can get a MTL vape from it but because the bore size is on the larger side a great MTL vape can't be done. I also wish the airflow was opened up more.

Hand fit is nice as you can see but a big mismatch that really hurts this kit is putting a round pod on this box, it just hurts the appearance. Uwell should have used a square or oblong shaped pod on this device, maybe it's just me but this pod on this device just looks off.

Final Impressions


In the past as well as the present Uwell makes some of the best coils for flavor production as these are included, but for me too many missed chances to make this a real winner. I would love to use this as a MTL device but the drip tip bore is to large for that, also I feel it falls short in the airflow department being too tight for a good RDL vape.

The device itself is attractive but for me it falls short. I used this for a few weeks and in that time I had zero leakage or failure to vape. If you like a very restricted vape and can get past the round tank on this mod this kit might just work for you.

Thank you Hitt, the flavor is great but as my review states airflow to tight for RDL and the bore size to big for MTL and the round tank, this had the making for a really great little kit.
